Troubles accessing SMB shares using XBMC XAF build w/ MINIX 2.2.4 720p rom & MXPlayer

Hey, hopefully someone can help me out.

It's been a few weeks since I last tried the XAF version of XBMC, but had to switch back to the test build since that worked fine with SMB shares. The XBMC test build is okay, but it skips when I'm streaming 1080p videos (the video just skips, but no buffering problems). I really want to switch back to XAF but for the life of me can't get it to work. The XBMC FAQ on this forum suggests it should work but I still can't do it and can't justify spending more hours tinkering with it.

Can someone confirm if they've gotten the XBMC XAF build to work with streaming SMB shares and how they did it?

    - What rom did you use? MINIX? Finless?
    - What video player did you use? MXPlayer? DICE Player? I know DICE Player doesn't support hardware acceleration through MK808b, but MXPLayer does but lacks SMB support
    - Did you use anything like an SMB wrapper?
    - Would CPU overclocking help? How much have you overclocked using stock cooling?

Any help is greatly appreciated--It will solve something that's been nagging in the back of my head for a long time.

Oh, and if SMB is just not feasible but NFS is, I'd like to know that too! It's hard to tell if NFS is supported, the latest changelog for MINIX says that NFS support is for Neo G4/X5 only.

Archos Video Player supports SMB and HW acceleration.
In my opinion, this is the best video player for Android.

When I don't use XBMC, my main player is Diceplayer and secondary is Wondershare player. Diceplayer has hardware decoding for SMB shares. With these 3 players, I haven't found anything that I can't play.

Hmm, I always thought that Diceplayer didn't support hardware acceleration with MK808B (the last time I tried). I'll try using Wondershare Player next. Archos Video Player is great, except there is an issue where the overlay keeps reappearing constantly while the video is playing, even though I am not moving the mouse or pressing any buttons. I haven't been able if it is because my bluetooth PS3 remote or USB keyboard is connected.
