Bluetimes 4k smart set top box upgrade to lollipop?

    Hi,
I have a bluetimes 4k box which worked pretty well with kodi 16.1. /exodus add on.
Now exodus seems to stop working on this kodi version and I need to upgrade to kodi 17. The problem is that this box run Android 4.4.2 and the new kodi version needs at least Android 5.1.
    Current system details :
    Build: rk3288-eng 4.4.2 kot49h eng.ant.20150327.140950 test-keys
    Kernel version 3.10.0
    Android 4.4.2
    Model number rk3288

Is there a work around /generic rom that I can use?
    Thanks in advance.

I tried to get the wifi chip version using aida64 but it won't name it.
I will probably need to open the box to see the chip.

As a temp WA to my specific issue I tried spmc application instead of kodi and so far life is good. But I guess I will have to update the rom in any case in the near future.
Will update this thread once i open the box.

If its kodi you need. You dont need to update firmware. Simple install Ftmc its now given kk devices longer life.. But if you do still open take photo of wifi chip with cell on magnify so you get clear shot of wifi. If 3288 should be able find few roms that will give you at least 5.1
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

              Hi,
              I finally opened the box,
              Wifi chip is ap6330 T0E8001 1433
Can you tell which rom is the best for this?
I'm looking for bloatware free rom, since this box only has 2g of ram

Hi I installed ftmc, unfortunately it won't support the latest version of exodus or subtitles addons I need. I keep getting an error about incompatible python version. I may need to search for previous versions of these addons and install from zip, but this means I cannot use a repository.
