This forum has a warning on it that states Firmware for 3/32 (Do not put on 2/16! There will be brick), so you are probably wise hanging on for confirmation.

Looking at the image name for the one posted by Gearbest is does specifically mention 3Gb, wheras the one from androidtvbox does not.

I'm still without a reply from gearbest whether I should flash this Firmware which seems to be for the 3GB ram version whilst I have the 2GB version.

I've returned the box to Gearbest just to know that it is not repairable and they just want me to pay $40 to get my item back. More details in this post.
