V88 Plus - Trying to set HDMI for 5.1 audio

I hope I am not asking a question already asked, but searching the forum did not produce any results.

I have a recently purchased a Scishion V88 Plus 4K box. Running Android 6.1. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get it to pass 5.1 audio.

An older box running on Android 5.x had a device setting in Audio to allow the change, the current box does not seem to have it.

Any and all suggestion will be gratefully accepted.

Return it or ask for your money back.
And yes pass-through is missing in the beta Marshmallow firmware Rockchip released last year, but it was fixed in the beginning of 2017.
But the manufacturer already moved on to new devices and don't care as they already have your money.

There are some firmwares for different wifi RK3229 devices, but don't go through all that trouble and risking to brick your device.
Rather get a RK3328 that runs Nougat that don't have any of these problems, just my advise.

Thanks for the info, it works well enough so I will gift it to a friend who only uses stereo anyway.
