there is an entire line where the touchscreen doesn't work.

Yes, I have had the same problem. Looked for calibration software and cold not find. Thought it was hardware but then changed some settings (I thought it was in the owner info somewhere but can't remember). It starting working again.....
Just noticed on latest riley rom 1.5 (since changing launcher, I have it back again), so could be something launcher related either...
