    Well, it is easy.
Your Box output FullHD but YouTube switch to 720p.
There are some hacked YouTube Versions out there that Support FullHD.
Also, did you try to Switch the Video to FullHD?

Yeah the max. resolution supported by YouTube is 720p. Yeah, when I go to change resolution the max shown there is 720p. I am not as worried about the 720p resolution as im worried about the fact that this TV doesn't have the "miracast" app which allowed to cast content. The previous scishion V88 I had that failed by itself had that app and it was very handy. I am planning to try certain things on the TV Box and report back the findings soon.

This may be of interest to resolve the lack of Widevine support.

Hey, sorry for asking such a noob-ish question, but what is the purpose of enabling Widevine support? Netflix and Prime Video work well in the box, also JioTV too.

One more thing, can you pull the "miracast" apk from your Rockchip TV box and link it here? I searched the web but cant seem to find a suitable version of the apk.I would have pulled it off my schishion v88, but that box is as good as a plastic paperweight.

Widevine is a digital DRM (Digital rights management) system used to deliver some streaming services and without it, some services may not function, or not deliver functionality at higher levels.

But if the ones you use work fine that not something to worry about.

              Always handy to know though.

Today will continue testing and info to give the reader an Idea what to expect.
Afraid from what I have seen so far not to much, it works.
Being a RK3229 its not a performance Unit, should do fine streamer and Social games etc, Internet etc.

Has Root, No taskbars at present

I see by a previous Post above Possible New Firmware this week.

Startup OK Google etc setup no problems in that area and Apps loaded.
Little sluggish while loading so I am guessing ram not a go getter.

Ok let have a look at the UI and Numbers

I have exactly the same problem with this. Anyone any solutions?

Ha small world, the reviewer i mentioned in a previous thread has shown up here. I can confirm that no advanced DRM fiddling is required to get both the default YT app and the standard play store YT app to work up to 1080p. The very 1st reply to this thread is exactly how you do it, he even includes a video link (its Russian but you still should be able to get the gist). All you do is use a file manager that has root access, navigate to the system folder on the root of your device, open build.prop in a text editor, scroll all the way to the bottom and add the following line directly underneath the very last line (save the file and reboot device afterwards): sys.display-size=3840x2160

My issue is that Kodi, SPMC and RKMC all report that my TX2 R2 box is running at 720p @240hz despite being set to 1080p @60hz in system settings. I noticed that Transporter_15 says that he/she does get 1080p @60hz to show in Kodi system info. It would be nice if Transporter_15 or someone with the same situation can share what firmware they are using. I'm still on the stock shipped firmware marked June 8th. If I could get Kodi to run in 1080p @60hz I would be a very happy man. BTW, i never messed with mirroring before but isn't mirroring on this device handled with the ''AirScreen'' app?

Its the latest OTA but not the latest firmware, The very first reply to this thread gave us a july 10th firmware. I wish that I didn't need to buy a male to male usb cable to install it

                            Does this box support HDMI-CEC?

I bought this box but I can't find any setting about HDMI-CEC and my TV remote control does not control tvbox by HDMI-CEC by default.

                              coolman7,

I don't think it can be enabled, seems like its lacking hardware wise. see spec sheet http://rockchip.wikidot.com/rk3229 / http://www.rock-chips.com/a/en/produ.../1109/799.html
