Any reviews with productivity bias
I see a big potential to use these TV boxes as a replacement for mITX based computers. Unfortunately I have not come across any review checking the productivity aspect. Tasks like compression, browsing, transferring files FROM ONE EXTERNAL DRIVE TO ANOTHER, using spreadsheet, document creation etc are of particular interest . Anyone can shed light on the utility of these devices for those tasks? Thanks in advance.Tags: None

A good point would be a RK3288 Android TV Box with Linux on it as Computer replace.
Most Boxes have only USB 2 Connectors so no that fast but you have SD Card.
Ethernet and Wireless Lan is fast on that Boxes.
So in my opinion you can use a RK3288 Box with Linux as Workstation.

Well Android boxes can be used and there are a number of productivity apps on the market.
They all come with Web Browsers, so quite capable of that.
Multiple USB ports mean that you can transfer files from one drive to another.
Not sure what you man by compression but if referring to zipping files, then yes they can do that too.
But to what extent they can perform the same tasks as well as say a traditional Windows based machine will depend on your exact needs and use for each process/app.
There is also Linux of course that can do all these things on the X86 platform but with a smaller footprint than Windows.
Many potential variables.
I guess if you have an Android phone or tablet, then from a performance perspective you might get some idea of how some apps may perform for you.

Hmm.. You can also install Android x86 or RemixOs / BlissOs / PhoenixOs on your PC
And do some testing...
In short...many Android tv boxes can do ( Doc/pdf ) documents reading & editing / even printing / music & video playing / downloading
if you are interested in speed/ benchmark tests.... See cnx-software
cheers
