    Cello Tablet

Hi everyone, I am new here and this is my first post. A friend of mine has asked me to look at a Cello tablet, it runs quite slow even after a complete factory reset. I have done some basic research on this device and find there is very little info on any of this companies products. Anyhoo what I was hoping to do is root this device and put on a custom ROM, I am more used to working on pc's and am only just starting with android systems, ( I have rooted my nexus7 and a MXQ box also deploying custom ROMS, which work great). But finding a tutorial on rooting a Cello tablet does not seem to exist, If anyone can give me any advice or point me in the right direction I would be most grateful. I know it is only a cheap chinese device, but it is only needed for kiddies to play games on.

    Here are the specs

Android 4.2.2 (so its old jelly bean)
    Kernel version 3.0.36+ 2013 model
8gb Storage (nearly all used after set up)
    micro sd support
    mini usb
    HDMI mini
    Model no PNDPP410GP
    Baseband Unknown

I have no idea what the CPU is on this or if any of the info I have given is any good, but I know any advice would be great thanks in advance

Well to start you going, here is the user manual.

    https://ns323666.ip-37-187-156.eu/manuals/Cello%20Tablet/Cello%20PNDPP410GP%20Tablet.pdf

The SOC is a Rockchip RK3168.

There are a few guides to rooting this SOC out there, including this one.

Bought a Certified 7" MID-73005 tablet with an RK3168 chip inside. I could not find a root method... I couldnt even find the right USB drivers. Found the method for the RK3188, which is the quad core variant of the 3168. Tried it, and it...

When looking for any custom firmware, look out for the name Pendo Pad as this seems to be another name that this Cello is known by.

Thanks for the response bluesmanuk, I have seen the user manual before, which was never any real help ( p.s the link you posted does not work sorry). I have had a look at the other link at xda and that has been a great help, also thanks for the info on the chip, that will give me extra to research. I will let you know how I go on, and also post up some sort of walk through if I get this tablet all up and good. Anyhoo thanks alot at least you have given me some good info and a start point.
