OTT TV BOX MXQ PRO 4K S905 V2 with 1G/8G REALTEK 8189E ROM Image

    Hi all.

Could some please tell me a compatible ROM image for my old OTT TV BOX MXQ PRO 4K V2 with REALTEK 8189E Wifi chip.

Would the MXQ_PRO_4K_p201_android_TV_by cOOLio_V2.5_MEE image work with this old TV box?

    Thanks.

On the surface the cOOLio firmware should work and he specifies the Realtek WiFi chips that are included, as well as details of a board or two, so as gefattern has said, open the box up and check the board and WiFi chip, which should give you the information that you need to decide whether to try it.

There are other firmwares out there for this kind of box such as

Is it custom firmware that you are looking for to improve on the deficiencies of stock or are you looking for a stock version to have around in case things ever go wrong?

It is a P201 board with the same Wifi Chip (mxq s905 v2 0 20151112). A while ago I flashed it with hugsun_s905_mxq_20160304-p201 firmware and the power LED now does not work properly and it does not shut down properly and I could not find the OEM OTT firmware for it. Bad support from OTT

Thanks for your reply. I will try this firmware ROM.

The ROM worked but it would not allow me to update both Kodi and SPMC to the latest version saying that it is not supported by this device. Also, the original remote would not work

Both firmwares worked except that if I shutdown the box, the remote would not turn it back on. If the remote worked if I put it to standby.

Also, the power LED is blue when it is Shut Down and no LED light when it is on or in standby. The very original firmware worked which had blue for ON and Red for OFF/Standby but I could not locate the firmware anywhere

Also, the box has an older remote and the new ROMs don't support it. I replaced the remote.conf file with a correct one and the remote still would not work
