Nexbox A95X custom roms not working

    Hi,

I have been struggeling for a few days now, I can't get any custom rom to work on my Nexbox A95X.

After changing uboot to , ddr en boot partition to the original one I am able to flash and boot the device but all it does is showing a weird boot image as showing in the picture below.

I noticed that the board in my A95X has DDR4 memory, could I be having a fake Nexbox?
    A95X DDR4 V1_1 20160906 is written on the board.

    Hopefully somebody can help me.

On the basis that sometimes things are not as they seem, whilst the board reference has DDR4 in it, perhaps that is not the case.

So just to be 100%, can you get the details from the actual memory chips on the board, which should be printed on them.

It may not be of consequence but information that somebody out there may find useful in helping to diagnose the issue.

You say that you have been trying custom firmwares but have you tried a stock just to verify that something will boot correctly?

If I have the right chip, it should be the samsung klm8g1wepd.
The original firmware flashes and works fine(except that it is a shit rom).

        klm8g1wepd sounds like the eMMC.

But anyway, with stock at least working, that is good.

So what particular flavours of custom firmware have you tried so far?

Yes you are right, can't find any other chip with a number on it though.

I have tried this one, which is ported for the S905X, same issue with the weird colors and boot image.

This one, which should work on a nexbox a95x.

I have tried more but I forgot which ones.
All of them have the same issue after flashing.

            Try this one

I know that firmwares specifically for DDR4 are often problematic with those that don't have it, so it may well be that the ones that you have tried are for DDR3 boxes, so may have the same issue in reverse if you happen to have some form of updated version of the box.

That is a question that you might want to ask in those threads for the firmwares that you have tried for confirmation.

In which case, it may be possible that there is no custom firmware available yet.

Oh wel, changed the DDR, uboot, bootloader parition and the kernel and it boots with normal colors! yay, but it only boots into recovery.
              Am I doing something wrong?

When you say that you changed the DDR, uboot, bootloader parition and the kernel, what procedure did you follow?

Reading through some of this thread, it appears that you are not alone.

Using the customisation tool, first selected the stock ROM and copied the ddr, uboot, bootloader partition and kernel to a different location.
Loaded the custom firmware and replace the kernel etc with the ones from the stock roms.

Mine nexbox a95x is also the R4 version.
When I google on A95x R4 I get the following link but no solution, thats a pity.

So it would seem that this box requires a specific custom firmware creating.

Hopefully one of the devs will see this and perhaps create something.
