Well xbmc works very well watching TV but can't get through any mkv without issues stuttering audio sync and then if its been a wile with no issue it will start jerking but since this firmware only bsplayer let's a movie play without issues

It took rikomagic 2 weeks but they finally agreed that they 1080p rom has too many bugs.

Might be buggy but Ilike the diction they are going with third party apps working better at playing hHD video as the third party apps are more features and Iwould like to see working 5.1 audio that they just aadded (not working)

Judging by the bugs i would guess they copied anothers work here and just slapped some stuff on from rockchip.


There testing methods are shockingly inept to the point its frighting.
I had to go through step by step with them to get them to see the bugs.

Hopefully the clued into the fact that putting out a buggy mess where media playback barely works without third party support is a quick way to destroy their business.

There to many others in this bussness now to have one of the main functions of your device broken.

Loaded the rom on but have slight issue
The android remote control app that worked fine on original 4.1 rom now causes a reboot if tried on this
What is the solution ?

You need new version of rk remote found on Google play store for free it works perfect with 4.2.2

rikomagic needs to update mk802iiis bt firmware

They replace working without custom firmware version of firmware with totallyunusable firmware at least they could put the working firmware bback up its as if they want to brake this device as the rk3188 was not so great after all!

The reason I rant is they have released a new firmware for the mk802iv Oct 17 2013 and still no fix to the mess for mk802iiis BT since september!

Wild guess they aren't fixing this firmware.

Its a older model which has been replaced by the IV version so support probably been killed off by now.
Either that or they are clueless as to how to do it which wouldn't surprise me at all.

I think what we really need is a 1080p mod of the test rom snake made here and forget about them fixing things.

It solid and lacking all the issues in their release.

I want to congratulate the developer of this ROM.

I flashed the ROM very-very easily in my RK3066 device with flash tool. I first booted today without any issues. No CWM screen appeared in first boot, no errors , nothing. It just booted straight to the awesome snake's logo and then to home screen to select a launcher.
I then formated and mounted the NAND and everything works fine. The only problem I had it was with my external HDD (WD USB 3.0) and disconnections at random intervals, but I installed "paragon NTFS" App and from that time onwards the problem seem to be fixed.

I have tried various alternative ROMs in this Rikomagic stick, but with this one...
First time I can see a movie (from my external HDD) without a glitch. Smoothly, very smoothly.

Very Good Job. And the screenshot tool, very handy !




P.S : It recognizes my device model number as Galaxy SII (?)

4.1 based rom

Are the stock Android 4.1 based roms better than 4.2?
I heard they have better performance than any 4.2. I don't know compared to this rom (can't do tests on my unit for now)

If so wouldn't be better to make a snakes custom based on 4.1*?


*20130428 is the lastest 4.1 I think
