    Recovery broken

    Hi guys,

I have a RK3066 based device with 1GB ram, Mali 400 graphics and 4GB flash.

I flashed mk808_finless_17c rom with the provided utility and now when I boot into recovery, I only have android lying on it's back with stomach open with red triangle and the device is not detected by Windows (tried Win7 64bit and XP), or the utility.

My device has 2 usb ports, micro usb and HDMI out and one small "U" button which when pressed before turning on gets it into recovery.

I'm able to boot the android and use it without problems but I would like to go back to stock rom. Any ideas how to approach this issue and recover?

    Thanks.

Sounds like you have the stock recovery. To load CWM recovery, see this thread:

I have an MK808, and used the generic RK3066 CWM recovery and it works great. Download the zip file, rename it to update.zip, place that file on your external sdcard, insert that sdcard into android stick and boot it. It will ask you to update, and after done you will have CWM recovery installed.

Now you can use the Reboot app to boot into recovery and install your stock rom CWM backup, or any other CWM rom backup. (Make backup first!)

Windows will not detect your stick when booted into recovery. If you need to re-flash an .img of the stock rom, you'll maybe need to read the Finless readme carefully to see how to get your stick into flash mode -- you did that once to flash Finless 1.7c, so the drivers should still be loaded.

      Good luck!
