I inserted the wrong adapter into the mxiii 1gb box and now it has no power. Is there any way of reviving this box.

Most of these boxes have 5v/2-3a.
What was the rating for the power supply that you inserted?

Yes and quite possibly fried the board.

Might possibly work on USB 2, although the extra juice delivered from 3 would be more ideal.
