Can any android stick do what I want?

About to give up on these. Have a new mk808b. Trying to get XBMC running right. I have a mythtv backend that I'm trying to stream from without success. Live TV/streaming recorded programs is giving me pretty poor results. Playing local video with MX player h/w decoding is barely acceptable. XBMC doesn't seem to be using h/w acceleration at all. I've tried every configuration of gotham releases, xml files, etc that I can think of. Even using software decoding only though, MX player is better than XBMC. Can't seem to find a good link to the XAF builds, and am unclear if it works for streaming/live tv anyway. I also can't tell if I may have a wifi bottleneck. I'm only getting 1500 kB/s transferring the file over ftp. The stick is about 3 ft from the router.
Haven't messed around with different ROMS, since it doesn't seem that they add anything for the 808b in terms of overclocking.

    So...
I think I simply need something more powerful, with a better wifi/preferably wired ethernet connection. Thought about trying an mk808 for the overclocking, and maybe add a wired ethernet adapter, but don't know if that would do the trick. I need either a more powerful android stick (are there any out there?) with a wired port, or spring for some sort of linux box (I feel like I'm going to encounter the same issues on a rasp pi, so may need to step it up a notch).

    Any suggestions?

Have you tried using XBMC XAF? It's configured to use MX player for playing videos.

I'm using a mk908 with XBMC XAF and MX Player free. Getting files from my NAS using UPNP over wifi. 720p files stream perfectly. 1080p is a bit much for wifi to stream smoothly but it plays them perfectly when it's not buffering.

I tried, but ran into issues (forget what exactly). I ended up returning the stick and going with a raspberry pi. No problems at all playing HD content. Only 2 issues are that I can't use skype, and I'm having a bit of a tough time getting watchespn content. Otherwise it handles xbmc without a problem.
