    High bitrate 3D 1080p ISO files on mk908

    Hi,
    my mk908 with hoabycsr's ROM V1.4 and a combination of a specific XBMC + MX Player gives me flawless palyback with no frame drops on every 1080p mkv files that I thrown at, using hardware acceleration; needless to say that 720p from local USB HDD and net streaming works also very good, no complains about them;

    the video stuttering issue became obvious when I tried to playback a 40GB ISO file ( a 3D movie RIP in 1080p ) so I wonder if this is software related or hardware related that the mk908 can't cope with higher bitrate mkv's or ISO's ?

    the biggest 1080 mkv file (normal, not 3D) that I have is 18GB and is played flawlessly from external USB HDD

    for that 40GB 3D ISO image I tried also a dedicated android 3D player called 3DVplayer4.2.0 - it's not a problem that it won't open the file, it also renders it very well for my 3D TV, just that it is not watchable because of the big video stuttering and audio delay of the picture, so I began to think that it's just a matter of a high-bitrate file that this stick can't handle

    any ideas?

    Full bluray rips won't play on this device it doesn't have the horse power (mainly IO bandwith,GPU grunt)
    in my tests 12-15Mbit/s (bitrate) is the absolute limit most iso rips are 20 to 30Mbit/s
    current devices(rockchip sucks)
    Hardkernel ODROID C1 running android kitkat
    Hardkernel ODROID XU3-L Running Linux/openelec (primary media server)
    rPi model B+ running nothing ... bricked

      I have many 40-47 G.B mkvs 2d and 3D with up to 45Mbit/s works very well even on 1080p kernel
      (even my ug007 can play these files and seeks instantly on them on 1080p kernel) , when using
      a usb 2 drive i have yet to see any mkv file that these rk3xxx devices can't play perfectly smooth (tested on ug007 dual core and ug007b quad core not overclocked mxplayer and bs player)

        I don't understand from your message wether you have these working on mk908 or on ug007.
        also what version of mx player and bs player do you use?
        what is your current kernel and ROM installed on the device?
        do you have the 3D movies as ISO files or as MKV's? what is the best program for opening ISO files?

        you might clarify these questions so I could understand where lies my high-bitrate problem, thanks

          I just saw the specs of the new MEASY U4K android stick that came out and I wonder how come that such a mediocre hardware (compared to the mk908) can play ULTRA HD 4K resolutions? that's 4 times better than 1080p, and can play 4 1080p streams simultaneously ... and they are pretty cheap on ****, 120$ with an air-mouse remote control as well and free shipping

          they even say it supports true 3D playback via the new HDMI 1.4 standard vs. the 1.3 that we have on mk908 ... I may order one, but still hoping for the launch of Amlogic M8 with the new mali450 which is expected to be released during this month of august which will have a great potential

            that hardware is more then quadruple the power then the RK3188
            its got a sgx544 witch even in its quad core configuration is 40% faster then the Mali400 the A31 also walks all over the the cpu in the Mk908
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowerVR...XT_.28SGXMP.29
            the Mali chips while capable are Dated and they are no mach for the PowerVR chips
            still I doubt you are gonna get 4K Bluray to play on these devices you would run into a I/O bottle-neck

              I said mediocre specs because I saw that the allwinner31 CPU is running only on 1 ghz instead of the 1,8 ghz of the mk908, but maybe that 4x boost in performance is given because it's GPU is much better than the mali400 used in mk908;
              Remember reading somewhere that XBMC doesn't offer further support and development for allwiner31 CPUs because of the lack of some documentation that allwiner would have to provide...
              also if it comes with true HDMI 1.4 support then we also need 1.4 specification cable to be able to use it for real 3D material;

              reading some specs of the new 1.4 hdmi format it says:

              Fully supports 3D over HDMI feature
              Bandwidth: 10.2 Gbps
              Supports 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, and upto 2160p resolution Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio bitstream capable

              Fully supports 3D over HDMI feature
              field alternative
              frame alternative
              line alternative
              side-by-side half
              side-by-side full
              L + depth L + depth + graphics + graphics depth

              HDMI Ethernet Channel

              Conect Ethernet cable to TV and all plugged in devices will share that signal through HDMI Cable
              The maximum badwidth is up to 100 Mb/sec of full-duplex bandwidth

              Support for 4K x 2K formats

              4K x 2K Support - Resolution on par with state-of-the-art Digital Cinema projectors used in the local multiplexes will be coming to your living rooms.

              3840 pixels wide by 2160 pixels high @ 24Hz | 25Hz | 30Hz 4096 pixels wide by 2160 pixels high @ 24Hz

              so this 1.4 standard is definetelly an improvement over the old 1.3

              I wonder if some custom ROMS and support will be available for this model, to be worth buying...anyway it's a good deal at 88$ without air-mouse/keypad remote control and with free shipping

                clock speed really doesn't matter with arm the A31 is nearly 40% faster even at the lower speed

                  A:i already stated that i have ug007 (dual core) and ug007b (quad core) , both can ply the big files i described

                  Q:also what version of mx player and bs player do you use?
                  A:latest version available (i always update with latest version as soon as they are released)

                  Q:what is your current kernel and ROM installed on the device?
                  A:NEO rom for MK802 IV with sam321 kernel (1080p and 720p kernels)

                  Q:do you have the 3D movies as ISO files or as MKV's?
                  A: MKVs (Half Side by side)

                  Q:what is the best program for opening ISO files?
                  A:i don't have iso files as all my video are mkv's , so i never tried.
