Finless 1.4 ROM & Archos 3G stick

    Finless 1.4 ROM & Archos 3G stick

    Hi,

    I'm having problems setting this up. I have the Archos 3G stick and a SIM from giffgaff - this is activated.

    At the moment the dongle has a flashing green light which should indicate it's trying to register with a 3G network.
    I have tried entering the APN settings through 'Wireless & network settings / mobile networks / APN' and can enter the details OK but when I save the APN is not saved.
    I've also tried clearing the SIM lock but I can't seem to clear the 'tick' against this item.

    Any ideas? I'm tempted to re-flash the stock rom but I'd rather avoid this if I can.

    Update - works on Samsung phone

    Just tried the SIM in a spare Samsung phone and worked fine so I don't think there is an issue with the SIM or activation of it.

        I haven't been able to re-flash with the stock ROM, not sure what I'm doing wrong!

        I have been able to flash the Kasty V2 rom and the 3g stick works fine with that, I plug the stick in, wait a while for it to register with the 3g network and then the list of APNs refreshes automatically.
        Registering took less than 1 min.

        With Finless V4 it never seemed to register with the network no matter how long I left it.

          What tablet is this?

          On the 10 G2 I injected some other 3G stick drivers and for some it broke other 3G sticks. If your is a 10 G2, I have another set of files for you to use to fix that.

                OK here is a new full ROM with no other changes except EXT4. This fixes some 3G sticks that stopped working on my 1.4 ROM. This is exactly the same as my 1.4 ROM but with the added 3G drivers removed. Again this solves a problem with 3G sticks that worked on the Stock ROM or my 1.3 ROM but stopped working on my 1.4 ROM.

                Please eraseIDB and flash entire ROM.

                  Flashed the new ROM and all working - absolutely perfect!
                  Edit - except my SD card got erased! That'll teach me! Luckily nothing important on there so no real loss except reinstalling my apps will take longer!

                    Reboot and I bet your SD card comes back fine! I have yet to have mine erased. It just shows up on first boot after a flash and looks like it is erased. Next reboot it should be fine.
