    MK908 - External USB Card-Reader

    Hi Folks,

I've a question about the support for an external USB-Reader an the MK908.
Right now I use the ROM: "MK908 Android 4.2.2 - jjhmod V1.5 ROM with Vsync fix" from hoabycsr.

The ROM works great but I can't use any of my external USB-Card-Readers.

Is this an Android problem in general?

Everytime I plug in the Card-Reader I get the message "USBMassStorage safe to remove".

Does anybody know what to do?

    Thanks.

Perhaps I don't have kernel support for your card reader.. It's just a thought. What kind is it? I'll go through the drivers. Though I'm not sure it should need specific drivers I'll do some playing with the card readers I have here.

I had a similar problem with Strauzo kernel that why I stop using it. When inserting my USB drive in my USB hub I had the same message. In some firmware there is a setting for "connect to pc" if you uncheck maybe you will be able to access your card. If you do not have that option I don't know what could help you.

I did some tests and the result is: it works but:

You have to insert the card before plug in the USB cable. If you plug in the cable first and then the card (sd card, memory stick...) you will get the message "USBMassStorage safe to remove".

This process is hopefully just a work around. I will make a casing with all componets and that means the card reader is hard wired to the MK908.

Is your sdcard reader powered or connected to a powered hub?

              Hi,

my sdcard readers are usb-bus powered. There is no external power supply. But there is no difference if I contect it directly to the mk908 or in the powerd usb-hub.
