    Why develop for these manufactures?

I've yet to see satisfiable results from these tv sticks. It seems most of us, including far more capable folks than myself, are putting great effort into developing for these tv sticks. Yet I'm not able to see any stick even closely match up to even a second hand windows laptop @ $150.
Don't get me wrong I'm into tinkering as much as the next, but why are you putting so much effort into developing for a manufacture that is not developing on their own? Really if the product was worth the money, even a Chinese manufacture would put in the time to make it work right and not rely on hobbist/reseller's to develop for it.

I am the owner of the cozyswan s400, but really it's garbage, I had the intent of selling the stick in Canada, but due to the lack of accountability of the manufacturer couldn't. But that doesn't stop other's from reselling these sticks.

Problems I had, Power supply blew up, same one shipped with most tv sticks.
Got a deep cut from the sticker on my device while trying to clean the top of the device.
The hole for the reset button wasn;t alined with the actually button.
The website still doesn't even have the firmware available in it's download section.

Really wtf, I expressed all my concerns with my device and 4 months later none have been addressed. Unless you are getting paid by these manufactures why promote these products? I have yet to see a MANUFACTURE with reasonable support for these devices. That does not include resellers, and even then these sticks don't live up to their claims.

Really should it be that hard to show proof of perfect 1080p video? Sorry to say even Finless hasn't posted 1080p playback.

My suggestion is stay far away from these sticks unless you are a developer or have some vested interest in the company. Otherwise you're in for a great disappointment.

If you want bleeding edge tech mini PC are where its at!

Stay 1model behind as my mk802iiis is playing better video than the quad cores but the quad cores are going to crush the duals with time for firmware development rikomagic and some of the other fabs that do care are still pulling the kinks out! The brand you have I never heard of and probably is one of the nock off brands that don't give two sh_ts about the device after the sold it! Its not the industry that's bad its a few bad apples! I have had issues but every firmware is better to the point that my wife now approves of it! That was the only goal if she likes it all is well!

Please don't go there, these ARE NOT MINI PC'S. Rikomagic, is being developed by resellers that have a vested interest in its success and it is far behind any windows, apple, and linux, mini pc out there. I guess my point is unless you are a developer there is no place for a tv stick outside the developing community, at this moment. Check all the websites, including Rikomagic, and they are all claiming far beyond what they can actually do now.

Maybe you have more influence over your wife than you know, haha.

Have you tried reflashing it with the Chiseltek Roms that I posted in one of my threads about this device? I have it running Netflix no bother now and have access to other TV apps such as the CW and Watch ABC after installing a tun.ko module. There's not a lot of work needed for this device as I kinda messed a few things up by tinkering probably a stage too far. What I would recommend is a longer aerial, one with a magnetised base like those by TP link. I now get a steady 150mbps 40Mhz N connection from my router and this device works a treat. Sorry about that power supply but Chinese power adapters are rarely good quality. Get one from **** and turn this turd into something more of a treasure! Be careful though with which Rom you pick as if you flash the wrong one I'm afraid you may learn how to short pins 8-9 on the NAND. This device is a MOMI M1 clone and yes its not the best in manufacturing quality but for £60 with a bit of love it can do the needful. Though I really want someone to sort out hulu!

yes my mk802iiis was clunky when i got it when they first came out in november now august they released the 5th version of the firmware and snakekiller made a custom firmware and its the best device i have ever used for movie viewing other than my $2000 workstation pc that i have only turned on when clients pay me to edit video for the rest of my activitys like watching streaming tv or watching a movie Mkv etc yes 1080p work smooth as ever! i also do all my web surfing on this mini pc and yes they deserve the term mini pc!!! as the other guy said get another power supply i got a hip street with 2amp 5v and my unit is stable to the point that i have not rebooted it for 2 weeks since the new firmware flash without any random app crashes ether, i say put a custom firmware that is suited for your model and like 90% have a no crash smooth experiance also your model i have never heard of! i have used ugoos ug802 it was ok then finless bob fixed it with very well made custom firmware but the rikomagic units are just better quality! and right now any one that has a newer quad core they are not tuned yet so i wont be buying one untill i hear the kinks are out! so next month or so

            enough

iv about had it with these types of threads
            here is the fact's
            1. there made inc china you buy from china you take the good with the bad when you pay sub 100.00 USD for device in this class (I guarantee that your 150.00 laptop won't decode 1080P AND run android) you pretty much lose the right to complain about anything

            2. you are the one at fault you are the one that didn't research the product before buying most of us knew going in that it was gonna take a long time before it would be usable
            3. as for why well that's simple we enjoy the work we enjoy the coding we enjoy the tinkering
