4 M96x 2G/8G all not turning on.. red light

Please help I have 4 m96x boxes, they are all just displaying a red light. The manufacturer sent me firmware and it got one of them to turn on but it still just shows a black screen and then the HDMI disconnects. Is this a firmware or hardware issue?
