Mini M8S III not able to boot from SD/USB via toothpick

Guys, I have Mini M8S III (not II) and no matter what I try, I can't boot from SD or USB with the toothpick approach. The only way I can flash is using USB Burning Tools with Male to Male USB cable. That works like a charm. I don't know If I'm broken or M8S III is broken. Anyways. I want to flash LibreElec. And everywhere I see instructions on how to do that via SD/USB. Do you know any LibreElec image that is flashable with USB Burning Tools? Or maybe somebody give me a hint why the toothpick doesn't work for me? Thanks!

    Is this unit rooted?
if yes... Try using petrus reboot : reboot to recovery ( make sure libreelec sdcard is present )

    if not rooted..
    try : home / launcher / update&backup app
now give it a zip file ( just a small one )
it should reboot and go to recovery

    goodluck

I switched to Android TV (TVstock Nexus) ROM via USB Burning Tool right after I got the device. Stock ROM is gone long time ago. Now I use this ROM just to have TWRP and have a chance to play with some other distros: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...see-first-post

I can reboot into recovery, but recovery is TWRP. I'm unable to boot from SD or USB.
