Alfawise/Clone H96 Pro Plus 3/32 Identification

I just got H96 Pro Plus 3/32 with 7.1.2 (build# in Picture) from unknown source written 4k on top as we see pictures on forums Alfawise clone maybe with DDR3? ram 2x1gb (micron ??) + 2x500mb (Unknown)? or other way around. Opened the box and I got this:



















can anyone point me to the correct manufacturers' latest firmware or compatible official preferred with the device.

UPDATE: I did some findings and it seems that I found similar configuration of board posted HERE ( should be DDR3L box but mentioned as standard DDR3 box?)

e.g. standard H96 Pro+ ddr3 board (not a clone)

not ddr4 not lpddr3

you use the standard hcygood firmware for ddr3&ddr4 boards

Thank you shonk for your reply I was exploring Hcygood site but couldn't find any download page. I'm going to use the latest one from your cloud storage.
I understand you replaced in the boot logo to H96 but whats in the unbranded one just curious.
Another question is what is the Preferred method to flash the firmware sdcard or usb otg cable any other rom recommended? just in case

SD card is the best way i think
you can also not wipe the data partition
e.g. it doesnt factory reset on update then
which is fine going from 7.1.2 to 7.1.2
6.0 to 7.1.2 i would reset just to be safe

Hcygood do an unbranded fimware for someone

the only difference's are

bootlogo partition is stock amlogic s912 image (thats what i replaced on my image)

build.prop
S912 instead of H96 PRO+
task bar is on auto hide on boot in build.prop

and the launcher is (you can replace it yourself) see below

i use the 21/11/17 image with the h96pro+ boot logo
then edit build.prop back myself and replace the launcher in the system partition back to the stock h96 pro+ one

i also do other tweaks but you can see that in the forum if needed

Thanks... I have upgraded successfully before your reply. Unfortunately didn't backup the build.prop from previous version going to replace launcher ane play with the firmware later just to familiarize myself with Amlogic firmware structure. I have other three boxes all are Rockchip i did lot of work on those Amlogic is a new experience for me. Thank for all your help really appreciated.

Is KDMC any better then Kodi? or they are same code. (no info about the KDMC fork found) I like the default launcher comes with firmware simple and colorful. I'm going to decompile the launcher and make some changes I'll see if i can change the links and default icons and put some nice background. any suggestions?

i remove everything from the preinstall folder inc kdmc its just a chinese package of kodi so its unassociated with kodi due to all the kickback of preinstalled kodi boxes

Removed the preinstall stuff as well. It seems like latest Kodi 17.6 both 32/64 bit have problems at start up with the latest firmware.(I haven't tried the previous one may be they have the same problem with 17.6) Always getting message "Kodi isn't responding ... close app /wait but it continue normally with same message on display have to click "wait" to get rid of it... Tried Kodi 17.4 no message but loading time at splash screen longer then normal. I have tried 3 kodi builds with the same problem. It seem that even without the build message still popup randomly. Did you faced this problem or I am the only one getting it?.

other then kodi, app close / Wait session popup is normal routine for different applications.
Believe me I thought Stock Rockchip firmware are the worst ones but they are winning one step ahead.


P.S can you point out the correct OTG usb port on h96+ or all compatible with the USB burning tool?. I would like to try SCV7A 7.1.2 from Superceleron. what understood
from very brief instructions that I have to flash scv4 first through usb burning tool hope the firmware is compatible with the device should i override the bootloader etc.

k, my recent experience with a blue pcb went well using burn card maker v2.0.3 rather than several v of usb tool. If you have had success with the tool(I did not using other versions as well) go for it, you are a better man than me.
My v4/v7 install regimen: Upacked the v4 zip/image, used burn card maker, inserted that card into unplugged unit, depressed the reset button(this unit has one of the easiest buttons to depress), plugged in the power, wait for Android logo robot, and, the hardest part, WAIT several minutes for the install of v4 to complete. From complete v4 install: DL v7 zip and drag onto an SD card, insert card, depress button, and plug in power. superceleron logo will appear and then twrp. Follow twrp instructions to install from the card. Hardest part again, was to WAIT several minutes for the install to complete. So far, the snappiest ATV rom I've experienced on an amlogic unit(previous experience was with a Beelink mxiii ii), do I dare say, Shield-like?

Thanks for the help ..flashed SCv4 and upgraded to SC7A both from sdcard. For upgrade used build in app went really smooth no glitch whatsoever. Now doing some customization and loving it.
