Bad performance 1080 video on MK809III device.. help!

I am really dissapointed about the 1080 video streaming capabilities (MKV) for my Android stick. Video Images are really stuttering. 720 seems to be a bit better and smoother.
As I understand, some people are able to play 1080 videos really smooth with their stick with same specs

Specs are:
Quad Core RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 1.8GHz + Mali400 GPU Quad Core
model number: rk31sdk

I tried already a bunch of ROM and no matter what ROM I use the 1080 performance stays bad.
With some ROMs I dont have WIFI anymore alsoo, other ROMS are even not booting.
Just a few ROMs seem to work well but still with the stuttering video at 1080 playback.

I also tried a neomode rom with strauzo kernel but rom didnt boot :-(

My testings are done with a direct connected USB drive and MX player with HW support.
Al these different roms, different stick names and types are so confusing :-(

So please Can someone explain me which ROM I should use (with working wi-fi) to obtain better performance please? or what else i could try ..
