AndroidTool V2.35 gets TEST DEVICE FAILED on unknown product.

I received a RK3229 device labeled and advertised as S905X with 8 GB of memory for Christmas.

It booted with the S905X flash and MBox animation.

It was running with crashes Android 7.1.2 and I was able to do an ADB and SSHDroid interrogate to find the RK3229 was there.
Both Play store and Chrome failed even though included in factory flashed image.


I have also got bugreport.txt from that.
I tried to factory reset and lost the ADB capacity.

Kodi 17.6 also said it was a RK2339 but KODI displayed wrong date from system.

Then tried to flash and now it is bricked but detected with AndroidTool v2.35.
A Device test worked occasionally but no longer after erasing flash on Linux rkdeveloptool.

Hope this rings true to help more to identify the device which no longer tests OK.
Maybe the erase flash was the culprit for it's demise ?

I have the 6.0.1 MM backup r329q v3.0 rk3229 with fake s905x. Send me a message and lets se if that can help you to get it working again. I had the same problem as you and now I have a leelbox firmware that working, no wifi but I don't need that.

I can only try firmware with bootloader 2.32 and there are not many that I found.
