    Mecool M8S Pro+ Netflix issue

    Hi guys,

This issue started suddenly for me since a few days ago on my Mecool M8S Pro+. I know of another user of M8S Pro L experiencing the exact issue.

On Magendanz Android TV ROM (http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...android-tv-7-1), the box would randomly go into reboot while I was watching Netflix.

Thinking it was an issue with the Android TV ROM, I have then reflashed the stock ROM. I have tried 20170919.150557.V0619 (the one that came with my box) and the newer 20171128.111200.V0928. Netflix issue persists. The only difference is that the box does not go into reboot, but Netflix app would randomly show the error "Could not reach Netflix service (-114)". This occurs more frequently if I stop a playback and choose a different movie.

No issue using LibreElec + Kodi 18 + Netflix Addon so I am thinking this issue is related to Android or Libwidevine.

Does anyone else using M8S experience this issue?

    Thanks.

        Honestly, I have no clue.

It seems to be some connection issue, but I cancelled my Netflix subscription so I cannot check on my setup.

You can add me to that list

As of this weekend I'm experiencing the same Netflix issue with the Mecool M8S Pro L (stock firmware). I've only had this box for about a week and it has worked perfectly fine for a couple of days.
Now when I want to use Netflix:
          - The first video I play always works fine and can be watched fully until the end.
          - When the next video starts on AutoPlay, or when I start another video manually, I get the "Could not reach Netflix service (-114)" error.
          - Then I have to reboot the box manually and I can watch another video. After watching the video, I have to reboot again to be able to watch another.

Now here's the strange thing. When this issue first popped up, the app force-closed (with Android error message) after selecting the second video and it would then continuously force-close immediately after restarting the app. A full reboot of the box would make things work for one more video.
As of yesterday, it no longer force-closes, but simply displays the error message and then it closes itself without the Android error message, only the 114-error. I still have to reboot the box before I can watch another video.

I have tried signing out and in, clearing cache and data for the Netflix app (and sign in again ofcourse), updating the Netflix-app, changing the video resolution in my profile, and even resetting the Mecool back to factory settings.
Nothing seems to make a difference.

Did you find a solution for this issue?

              Thanks for your reply!
Not the solution I was hoping for... But if it's a hardware failure, then there is no real other solution I guess...
I have also requested a return&refund, hopefully they will help me out.

Thanks for your reply, I did not see that yet since I had put the box to rest.
Yesterday I have tried the burn tool and it does fix the NW-6-404 UI-113 error, allowing me to access Netflix using the ATV app.
Unfortunately the other issue remains (Netflix allows to watch 1 video and then keeps crashing and generating errors until a system reboot).

Have already been in touch with Videostrong about this issue a couple of months ago and what started in a very enthusiastic, friendly reply of Videostrong, bringing me in contact with the tech ppl to try and solve the issue, ended up in silence where Videostrong never replied to any of my e-mails again.
