Search The Bay UK or COM or? using item number ...

My Fan item number 222616196610 ($1.45 - others available from $1.21)

    Optional better heatsink
    My Heatsink - item number 292062678333 ($1.42 for 2x)
    Needs
    HY910 Thermal glue - 132406581708 permanent glue ($2.56 5g tube)
    or
MX2 Thermal paste (non-permanent) needs fan to press heatsink when lid screwed down.
    Plus optional
    Fan grill if needed/wanted - 262494677895 ($2.49 for 2x)

    Need soldering iron
    Need small screwdriver
Need resistor to slow fan if using preferred USB 5V switched supply
1W 33-62ohm (bigger is slower-quieter) - Item number 302258789669 ($0.99 for 10x try a note to seller to supply selection from range - select mid value for order)

Well it's but I think they all forget like a pressure cooker, not just the Mecool box. It would be nice if someone made Kits like RasbRaspb Pi3, but we should understand that they are totally different projects with different audiences. Generally the Raspbarry Pi3 that receive Case are to be used as emulator of old games. Mecool's only way of enforcing this would be to change the whole design of the board, or adding an internal fan already in the factory.

Yes, but the country where I live is always a bit more expensive, it costs about $4.25 but the dollar costs 3x the value of my local currency.

That looks like the fan I used.
It will fit inside no problem just use some double sided foam to keep it a little away from the lid to allow air flow.
It will probably lift the lid slightly, and I remove the chrome ring to allow a little more ventilation.
I would use a 33, 50 or 62 Ohm resistor to slow it down from 5V speed. Bigger is slower and more silent but as it is in a box with no extra holes it may need to be a 33 for more effect.

"After" solder points are 5V switched supply. Before are constant 3.3V.

Careful with the tiny resistor when soldering to it ...
There is USB 5V underneath the board that is safer to use but requires board removal.
Your M8S Pro will probably have a slightly different layout so you will have to find the right resistor or use the underside USB pin ...
Looking at the image in Trebor's thread it looks very similar with a resistor in the same place so you may be lucky!

Hi P.X , I have a Mecool M8S Pro and it easily comes in at 68° Celsius with non-stressful tasks and in games ranging from 75° to 80° Celsius.I really hate the idea of sticking my pretty little box, it corrodes my heart.I've seen some videos including yours, which are great! But as I am not English-speaking I always have some doubts.

    1. Do the use of these Coolers spend any significant energy?I used a Cooler 120x120x25mm V12 PC source below my box, but because it was so ugly in my setup I stopped use, but it kept the temperature on between 50° and 60° Celsius, reduced the temperature about 10°.

2 ° Is there another alternative to not have to pierce my beautiful little box and to still keep a cooler in there?I've been researching and found a cooler for Raspbarry Pi3 with dimensions 30x30x7mm and I thought would it fit everything in there without having to drill a hole in the lid of my M8S Pro. Its possible?

3 ° If I follow in his footsteps, I mean without having to cut the lid of the box, I will need a resistor, I believe, to reduce the rotation of the fan and make it less noisy. Can it be any 5v resistor or does it need to be a specific one?If yes can you speak in friendly words to noobs?

4 ° At the time of soldering I realized that in this video you used a different layout of other videos of yours, which the reason for change position of the welding place?I'm not sure if my handset without the L will be the same model of board, well hope it is, if it is different could you guide me?

The fan is plugged in on of the Mecool USB ports.
This solution is very original and doesn't seem to require any modification of the M8S Pro L itself.

How does cost the fan and the required USB plug?

It's a little unfortunate that it remove one USB port. Any other means to power the fan?

    Is this fan very noisy?

And finally, how a real box could be built? (instead of using the original packaging).

    Thanks!
