For testing purposes, I took the lid off my original Mecool M8S L (the one that I had killed) which I had drilled holes into, and put it onto my new Mecool M8S Pro L with Bluetooth Voice. I just laid the fan that is connected to one of the two USB ports on top of my box. The temp went from 88 C to 55 C.

This is using my box for my Security cam monitor.

    Under-side pin is best then

I wouldn't recommend using a grill on the fan though, because it simply generates more unwanted noise.
    Congrats on your great work!
    Thanks.
No noise from the grill, the fan is moving quite slowly in comparison to PC speeds where it may be an issue.

Fitting the 30mm Sunon Maglev but I still prefer the cheaper 30mm Pi Fan - Just use a 33 Ohm resistor for the Pi Fan.

    Thanks
PCB is attached to the base by 2 screws - One probably has a small security label on it. You have to break it to remove the screw unless you try a hair dryer or heat gun to heat and then lift the tiny Tamper-proof sticker !!!

USB sockets are the same on the L as the Plus.
+5V is the pad nearer the power-input socket.
0V is all over the place - Just pick one or use a shroud on the top of the board ?

I don't think my freezes are from the heat issue, I believe it is something to do with the drivers, but not positive.

For the first week or two, the one with Voice was solid as a rock, but now I get some freezes, occasionally. I have not taken the time to figure out what is causing the freezes but I am running lots of different apps, including the Kodi Beta, which is probably causing the lock ups. At this time, I Would not get worried that you may get a bad box.
