Hi all. Sorry if this issue has already been addressed, but I've read through the first couple of pages of the forum and have yet to see a solution.
I recently (within the last few weeks) ordered and received an MK908 from GB. Although I haven't opened it up yet, I'm assuming it's a v3, since it won't run the Finless ROMs (bootloop).
I have had stability issues (resets, app crashes) with almost all the ROMs I've tried, but before I solve that, there's another issue that is more pressing.
I noticed first with the stock ROM, use a simple speed test app, that although the Wifi connection is always between good and excellent (full bars or one bar missing), that the wifi speed is sorely lacking. I would get between 1 and 2 Mbps when my phone or laptop from the same location in the house would record speeds between 10 and 25 Mbps (depends on time of day). The UL speed was also miniscule (0.06Mbps?!! when it should be around 2Mbps).
First, when I installed the "universal" ROM, I thought I solved this problem, because I saw the DL and UL increase to where they should be. However, in subsequent uses, it reverted back to poor performance. Initially the DL speed came back down while the UL speed remained OK, but currently I am back to both DL and UL being about 10x worse than they should be.
Because of the inconsistent behaviour with the same ROM loaded, I'm wondering if this is a HW issue. Could this be caused by the poor power supply or overheating? Is this solvable by opening up the case and making some tweaks?
Pretty disappointed with my purchase thus far...
