2. Use Root Explorer in Es File Manager, Mount devices RW instead of just readable, then go to system/apps(something like that) and delete the apps, make sure 'show hidden files' is also enabled in ESF settings. Remember to change folder permissions back to read-only.

Congratulations mo123 for the work, I've done some tests and so far everything is running fine. I really liked the boot animation and desktop. I used the kernel 2dark4u 1.4 Ghz and the system is fast and no crashes. Watch all my video files in MKV HD and FULL HD smoothly. Wi Fi signal is very strong and if you can watch streaming videos normally. The MX player does not play DTS audio, it was necessary to install a codec apart. The native system reboot is very slowly. Installed a reboot apk Google Play and was show. Use the Set CPU apk and always leave set to @1.2 Ghz, in Hotplug governor. For now it's just, I will continue to test your Rom and if you have more news I post. Congratulations again primarily "RAISE" MK808 the already quite forgotten by the users. Even more!!

I went at it again today, and my suspicions regarding the quality of the hardware have been confirmed. The mini USB connector (OTG) fell into the case! I took it apart, and the other connector (power) also fell off the board.
Now I simply need to decide if it's worth re-attaching them....
sorry, my application Malwarebytes was blocking the download site.
Thank you.

You can try this.
1. You can uninstall the Rockchip drivers in device manager
2. Reconnect device to pc to a different usb port and make sure the latest drivers are installed ver 3.0.0 or something like that not the v2 drivers since the old drivers can give problems with new firmware.
3. In device manager make sure your usb port devices aren't set to turn off power when not in use, since the rockchip device's power can get turned off by windows even while flashing.
4. You can try to flash a stock rom for your device first by booting to recovery, don't know if there is a pin/button you can push on your device since I'm not familiar with that device.
5. Also make sure you use a kernel(Android 4.1.1 not 4.2) from MK802 IIIS or a device with your Mediatek wifi on your device since the Mk808 & Mk808B kernels will result in your wifi not working, since you have sort of like a 'clone' device with not a lot of support. The kernel must be between 7-9mb I think, anything bigger and your device might not boot, happened to me.
6. It could also be that devices with Mediatek wifi have other files in the firmware or boot to work correctly and that this rom is incompatible with your device(Not likely).
Keep on trying, as I have bricked my device a couple of times but got it working again, there is hope.

Hmmm....
mo123 and rouletabille: Thanks very much for your prompt help!
Heres where I am now: I flashed the kernel only, but it won't boot.
Now my PC does not recognize the stick at all, even after re-boots. Try as I might, I can't get into the device to load USB drivers and flash again.
Any thoughts? I tried different cables, no luck. I wonder if the TV stick is lost?
Thanks again - you really went above and beyond in trying to help this newb!

If you want to use CWM to flash, you have to change the kernel in the zip file of this rom.
I did it for my mk808, i just paste the kernel image from the first rom to download and flash by rkbatchtool there, to the zip file MK808B_digitopMod_v2.1_WALKMAN (30.08.2013) to flash by CWM.
Im using this kernel i dont know what version is that, like i said no more temp issue, real good wifi signal (under lewy lewy 224 i had to use 2dark kernel for a good wifi).
Afterwards you can use other kernel with rkbatchtool like said mo123.
btw im using TV provider stream application by wifi and this rom gives me the better result, no lagg, no buggs, no force close.
like it said there, this rom maybe isnt a real improvment; but brings surely some positive result to some issues and a stable video use.
Our rk3066 continues to give us good moment and will delay on my own to choose rk3188

I finally got a MK808b flash on my T001 stick, but no wifi, so this seems like what I need.
Thanks for your help.

Steps
1. Download http://www.mediafire.com/download/iz...Pack_v1.37.zip
Password: geekbuying.com
2. Download kernel, try last 2 http://www.omegamoon.com/android/mk8...rnel_3.0.8.zip or overclocked one
http://www.allminipc.com/forum/download/file.php?id=54&sid=093b7a3c117e2e96dc91f23d703 3b25a
3. In app make sure only kernel check box is selected, unselect boot, system, recovery etc. and point kernel to extracted kernel.
4. Only click flash/run not erase, so that you only overwrite the kernel.
5. Wait 5 minutes and unplug device or until blue light turns on.
UPDATE: I saw your device actually uses mediatek wifi drivers so the above kernels won't work on your device. After searching I came across http://www.freak-tab.de/finless/imit...inless_1_5.zip Imito mx1 device that has your wifi. You have to use the kernel in this rom since it's Android 4.1.1, newer roms for this device are Android 4.2 and uses a kernel that is incompatible with the 2 roms I posted above.Last edited by mo123; 02 September 2013, 07:50.

MK808B Kernel Flash?

MK808 & MK808B are identical except for the wifi driver which is in the kernel.

tried the last rom with recovery; just switched the kernel image from first rom for mk808 into zip file to flash in recovery mod.
On my own the first boot anim with blue android circle was better than google boot anim but its just an opinion.
Power off only show power off option; we had in first rom the sleep mode/power off/reboot option
Russian apk for tv and movies can be uninstalled.
all is running perfect; im going to give it a try cause of some issues with last lewy. On my own its not the lewys rom fault but a temp issue with 2dark kernel.
In fact im continuing to mod my mk and i finally found a case for this one with and old dvb-t tuner receiver case.
But this rom in same way gives me a real good wifi signal and no more temp issue.
Can you post the boot anim of first rom in zip file for recovery flash ?

I'm trying to make an overclocked MK808B kernel but struggling to make it boot on the device, I'll make a new thread so people can give ideas to help.
