RK3188 TV Box connection to PC

I have my android TV box RK 3188 connected to my TV and to my PC. In settings of the TV box I check the USB section to connect to pc and the box shows up on my PC. If I unplug the USB cable and plug it back in my PC does not see the box. While plugged in to the PC I uncheck the USB connect to PC and then check it on again my PC will see the box again. Why is this happening?

    Hi ,

you have to uncheck "connect to Pc" and then unplug USB , if you do it without the

"unmount" is not correct , hope it helps .

I have tried that way and it didn’t work. The only time the PC will recognize the TV box is when the USB cable is connected and then I click on USB connect to PC checkmark. As soon as I uncheck that mark the PC stops recognizing the TV box.

I was in a hurry when I replied and forgot to thank you for the advice. I also have another problem with this stupid box. If I check the box in USB settings to connect to PC and I power down the TV box, the box is unchecked when I power back up. Is there a way to make the box permanently checked to connect to PC?

Gentlemen, I thank you for the information. If that is the case how can I flash the device and upgrade to Android 7.1.2 Operating System? The procedure is that the box needs to be powered down; put in a reset mode; connect to PC and install new software with the Rockchip Batch Tool. My PC will never see the stupid box. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Android 7 on RK31, never seen out there.
                sorry maybe Android 5.1.
What's the matter that you want Android 7.

The reason for Android 7 is the ability to install Kodi 18.0; I believe that for Kodi 18.0 you must have at least Android 6 or higher. However, my problem is that I wouldn’t be able to upgrade even to Android 5 if I can’t establish the communication between the PC and the TV box

I did a little research and apparently Kodi developers made it to work with Android 5.1 and higher just like the Kodi 17.6 used to be. My TV box at the moment has the Android 4.4.2 and I need to upgrade it to at least the Android 5.1
