Actually, you don't need to be a superuser (root) to call "reboot recovery".

I flashed one box to death with an atvxperience rom. Another User experi3nced a dead recovery button too (after flash) had then bootloop and was unable to get into recovery....

If you can boot into the firmware , then you need to install Terminal emulator.In it enter
1. su
2. reboot recovery
And so you can get into. recovery.

But it is difficult to understand and risky!!!!

He simply replaced the dtb.img file.This file was laid out in this topic.It is specifically for boxing with 1gb.Do not take much risk.

Yes , you need to take the vanilla assembly for 1gb box.

I think you can make a version of android 8.1 from version vanila android 8.1 .If this version add opengapps android 8.1 tv stock.There in total 233 mb opengapps .
