My brain is fried :-) I need some help. RK3229/S9082

First of all, would like to take the oppurtunity to congratulate the forum/websites members. Found it while doing research on google. Has lots of very good info and have learnt a lot just buy reading.

Yet with all the info that I have read on here and elsewhere, I have not been able to resolve my problem. I have been literally been at it for almost 10 hours a day for the past 3 days but to no avail.

My youngest daughter has a MXQ pro 4k box in her room to watch Youtube. It was given to her as a present. Box started acting up and freezing etc. To cut a long story short.....factory reset did nothing so i tried to install new firmware by toothpic method. Box bricked. Opened it up and used shortcircuit method and revived it again :-) :-) all this i learnt here on your forum guys...After trying out literally over 50 firmwares, some will boot and work while others dont. Freezing problem is resolved with firmware upgrade. Problem is wifi does not work. Carried on reading further and i found only 1 or 2 posts with same problem.

The firmware that does work and boot up is all firmware that is made for the RK3329 chip and ss6051 wifi chip. (Although wifi does not work on my box) and also volume up/down does not work on remote.
My box is a MXQ pro 4k Rockchip RK3229 with WiFi Chip: S9082 I have literally gone through each firmware on china website and looked for one that works but to no avail. I also found only one box (T96) that has same Rockchip and Wifi chip s9082 combination. No other box has this combination. Anyone has this firmware for me to try out?

Can anyone help me out with original firmware or point me in the right direction? I know its a cheap little box and could just buy her a new one. BUT..........now it just me that does not want to be beaten by it :-).

strange combination , are u sure the Wifichip is S9082 , maybe Gearbest can help , the sell the T96 .

There are ways to start Wifidrivers by "init.d" i think , after boot up , but first you need the Drivers ,

root and the knowledge to do it , i dont have , good luck further ,

Yes im sure im reading the wifi chip correctly. I have used a microscope to see whats written/printed on it ( My eye sight is not what it used to be ) lol. Have a look at actual pics........I have also read about that you can manually try to make the wifi work again, but I think it will be a little to much for me to figure out. As you so correctly stated....you need knowledge. That is why im asking if anyone has original firmware to this combination or the T96 firmware for me to try out as in its specs, it has the same combination of rk 3229/s9082. I dont want to be beaten....my daughter is watching me kkkkkkk..... I took some pics right now. Maybe someone can help.
It is hard to believe that only a couple of boxes were made with this config.....but yet i have only found like two ppl on google asking same question, yet no solutions... I have sent Gearbest an email asking if they would kindly send me the firmware....still waiting for a reply.

Thanks for link to firmware.. Had not seen this version yet.....Remote control is working fully with volume up/down working great, but wifi still nothing. This image says its for ssv6051 but i tried it anyways just to make sure.... the search continues :-)

maybe you can find the right Rom on the Wechip Site , under Support u can find

all the Rom downloads , but be sure u look for RK3229 Roms .

Have indeed been on Wechip site a couple of days ago. Only one firmware worked and was the same one that Neomode suggested. Remote works with this firmware but still no wifi. Have contacted a seller of T96 andrid boxes. He says he will send firmware today. Lets hope he does. What I do find strange, is that I dont find anywhere online firmware for the T96 or even reference to this box on china firmware page. Gearbest has also been contacted but as I didnt buy the box from them, they are not willing to help.

Oh well, just have to wait and see. Maybe someone will come along with that has this box configuration.

Indeed. So sad that something so simple to resolve takes so much effort. From what i read it was really a rare combination.....maybe I have an android box that is equal to a picasso :-) :-)
