Randy, thank you very much !!

Didn't receive my tablet yet... I'll try and report as soon as I get it.

I wonder there's not more people interested in this tablet... I know there is at least a forum here in Spain with a good bunch of people talking about it. I'll let them know about your Rom, so maybe someone want to try...

          Storage questions

Nice package Riley, though I got a question and a request.

Is the CWM recovery the default (as the PDF instructions seem to indicate) or do we rename the recovery that appears to be CWM by name in order to get that as the default recovery (similar to your parameter files).

With the parameter files my Pipo Smart S1 Pro has a listing of 8 GB of memory, but when choosing your 6GB param it splits the storage as such: 5.91 GB in main and 659 MB in secondary. Is it possible to get a param file that would put all internal memory into one listing so that Move to SD actually moves to SD (like it does with phones). If that isn't possible that is fine, it appears there are ways to swap the second drive with SD card in Android ( http://tabletmods.blogspot.com/2012/...l-sd-card.html ) but it would be much cleaner for me if I could get all internal storage in one 'drive'.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for the custom rom.

Look in the ROM folder. If there is a CWMrecovery.img, the default will be the stock recovery. CWM doesn't work on all tablets, so beware that you may not be able to control it with the touch screen if the drivers dont support it. I haven't tested it on the S1. It is only added as an option.

You have a total of 8gb storage, so you can only flash up to 6gb user app space. There must be enough space for the system (about 600mb) and some space for your apps to store data (such as games)...so there needs to be at least some internal SD space left for this.

            I hope that helps.

              Understood on the CWM.

From what I've seen (and this may not be accurate as this is my first tablet) some tabs out there can be changed to allow all the storage in the primary system partition, leaving nothing left to create an app/user partition. This is what I am looking to do, I'm hoping this might make the external SD show as the SD for moving apps to. I've gotten almost all of this accomplished with your parameter6 file but wasn't able to test higher as the highest file you got is the 6gb one. I'm not sure if this is possible in general, let alone with the S1 Pro, my delving into Android has been limited to two phones before this tablet.

Can you unlock frequencies of CPU for overclocking, please?

Can you unlock frequencies of CPU for overclocking, please? I'm heared it's possible to overclock RK3188 up to 1.92GHz.
I have arm cellphone (LG Optimus L3) with Cyanogenmod 9 on it. And I can patch it trough the Clockworkmod's recovery zip with update including opportunity of overclocking realized at "Maintenance" main menu string. It will be so nice even if you just unlock or change Pipos1 pro rk3188 CPU's frequency to 1.92GHz maximum that user will be change locally through Antutu's CPU master, for example..

While Rockchip did release sources for their kernel's...unfortunately, Pipo hasn't done so.

In order to compile a kernel for a Pipo tablet, we would need the sources that Pipo used to compile their specific kernel.

While OS's like Windows are pretty forgiving with variations of hardware installed on a particular device, Android requires some specific code for each internal component. TV sticks are easy because they don't have touch screens and gyro's to worry about. Tablets are a nightmare to try to make a kernel without the original source code.

The best we can do is edit the existing kernel with a hex editor...if we know what to edit, and hopefully without breaking something in the process. I haven't learned how to do this.

I'm not saying it isn't doable...I'm just saying that I will need to consult my fellow Freaktab developers to see if it IS doable.

                  Good question, though.

                  Stay tuned!!!!!!!1

When I asked you about overclocking I think that you compiled already your version of kernel and firmware for S1 Pro, okay even I was wrong... may be you know hundred-two correct answers for configuring kernel for building... here is souces that correct for tv-sticks... https://github.com/jjhmod/rk3188-android-kernel , yeah there are sources of rk3188 kernel for android. I can't do nothing usable with that right now... may be you can make more than me.

Hello Riley, may I know the details of your Wifi tweaks and where do you get the "parameter file" and how do you use it? Thank you.

Are you talking about what I've been putting in my other ROM's? The tweaks go in a file in the system root called build.prop.

Be careful what you change there, but the Internet is full of tweaks you can add to this file.

As I have learned more through testing, I may be able to put out an update for this tablet with more tweaks.

                        Stay Tuned!!!!!!!

Yes, Im interested in where you got the paramater tweaks because my usable memory is only 4.5GB, want to increase it, and extra stuff like where you got Wifi tweaks, Im using Pimp My Rom for my tweaks

The ROM kit has choices of parameter files in the RileyROM (or ROM) folder. Just pick which size user app space you wish to use and flash the entire ROM substituting the parameter# with the default parameter file. You can browse to the desired file by clicking on the box to the right of "parameter" in the flash tool.

The reason I ask about the NAND size is that you are limited to the total NAND, minus about 1gb for the system and you also need to leave some space for your internal sd. I'm not sure you can actually use the 12gb parameter, unless you have 32gb NAND.
