Why big fuss about RK3188 devices??

Hi friends, i have joined to try to help in future but I have always been curious as to why everybody rates rockchip device and now rk3188 when there is other devices with MUCH better playback?

Ie i have a t-r42 (rk3188), Mx2, ouya and raspberry pi and out of all of them the rk3188 has the worst playback!?

MX2 was excellent for the price, ouya is very fast but has rubbish remote, rasb pi has slow menu but plays 1080p perfectly, the rk3188 has very fast fluid menu and speed but has poor 1080p playback.

I hopes this helps others but my question is why do people not like things like mx2 etc and choose to opt for rk3188 devices on this forum?

so I would say from experience so far:
    1) Ouya (fastest so far, plays 1080p perfectly)
    2) Mx2/Atv1200 dual core amlogix - Both play 1080p perfectly
    3) raspberry pi (simply because slow menu everything else perfect)
    4) Rk3188 - T-R42 (excellent fast menu and nice remote - Worst 1080p playback)

There is also the Dolby Digital & DTS issue, AM logic pass them onto the optical/coaxial port, reading that Rockchip doesn't

I think part of it is because sellers like geekbuying have a pretty savvy web presence, but over state or just plain lie about the performance of the devices they're selling.

I had the Ouya for aa when it first became available. Tried two versions of xbmc others said worked best. But I wasn't impressed. Skipped frames made it unwatchable. No play store made it annoying.

It is because the hardware itself is capable of good playback, but the PCB designers and developers **** it up on purpose. Check any custom ROM, they all fix problems such as the playback, and juice out any remaining performance with customized kernels.
I am running a semi-custom phjanderson kernel on my T428, and fullHD MKV (high profile, 5.1 audio, etcetera) playback is perfect on most players (plus a lot less laggy). I suggest you try something similar!

          Hallo!

Now, first time, I'm thinking about "to walk on this dark side of life" for me...

First I found out the "rikoamgic MK802 III (RK3066)" which benefit is, that there are many Liniux Distris available, then I find the "rikoamgic MK802 IV S (RK3188)" and read about the WiFi-Problems (and in Germany is to expensive for me) so I find the "Tronsmart MK908 (RK3188)" and a nice community with some Android-fixing here...
But read about the same WiFi-Problems...

So, then I find the "Tronsmart MK908II (RK3188)" and it looks like a good idea about the external WIFI Antenna, more open case because of the head AND in the German forum of rikoamgic I found, that this device should be the successor of the "rikoamgic MK802 IV S (RK3188)" http://www.rikomagic.de/rikomagic-mk...om-mk802-iv-s/

So at that point (in the hope that this enlivens the "market" of custom ROMs and Liniux Distris) I want to order it...

But then I read some interesting thinks about the Chip 8726-M6 (specially "HDMI passthrough (DTS / AC3)") on the Atv120 (not 1200 because of the price) but at a German forum I read about problems with the playback too.
But nothing about DTS / AC3 downmixing, because at this moment I only have stereo, but wath's about the future???

And after reading this thread I'm totally confused

So now I'm at the beginning again

          Any usefully inspirations for me?

          greetings
