    Ethernet port not working on K-R42

    This is my first post here. First of all, a big thanks to all of you guys for the time you are spending for the community !
    I just received my K-R42 from geekbuying and figured out that the ethernet port was not working --> The box never retrieves IP from DHCP (netgear dgnd3700 v2 router). bellow what I've tried so far :
    Different cables --> nothing happens when I plug the cable. no IP address
    Static IP --> the box shows network icon but no access to lan (NAS, DVB receiver ...)
    moved from stock rom to HFW 1.2.0 --> nothing
    moved from HFW 1.2.0 to HFW 1.2.2 --> nothing
    flashed wasser's Kernel (28/08) over 1.2.2 --> nothing

    How can I determine if this is a hardware or software problem ? Thanks

    cheers

    With my exprience, it's a hardware problem.

    My first K-R42 has the same problem.

      Thank you ibazzi for you answer.
      I'm looking for a "scientific" way but It seems like this subject has been censored for a reason I can not identify

      Thank you any way.
      Regards.

        Hi, there was the same problem on my AC8350 (seems to be equivalent to K-R42). I have fixed it now. In case you can build your own kernel and capable to flash it to your NAND you can go that "scientific way".

        Have a look at http://linux-rockchip.info/mw/index....x_Distribution, it is for linux only and will eventually not working the same way for android, but it is a good point of start for you.

            Hold in the restore button before flashing it is located on the underneath (base plastic) of the K-R42 it is a little shaped plastic cut out with a straight piece of plastic with a circular shape at the end, unplug the power cord hold the restore button in and plug in the power, this will show flash device detected or words to the effect in the firmware loading rkbatch tool or android tool your using, release the button and proceed with the flashing once you select the appropriate flashing seperate files eg.boot, kernel, system ,hope it helps mate and good luck,i have the same unit and it's a great little unit with some horse power to boot.
            I have mine at 13.10 saucy salamander linux at present, and it works well minus hardware acceleration as is currently unavailable as of yet,but fingers crossed.
