    Imito QX1 custom-kernels 09-09-2013

I made some new kernels for iMito QX1.

They have all included the sam321 fix for video some new governors and io schedulers and some improvements made by phjanderson, sam321, thesawolf, hoaby, Galland, omegamoon, etc... Thanks to all of them, specially to phjanderson for his great tool marvin, with it is a lot of simple compile kernels with a lot of options enabled, and sam321 for his video fix and oc code.
I use ondemand like default governor, and default IO scheduler is noop, you can change it with any cpu control app like No frill cpu control, Antutu CPU master, cpuspeed, etc...

    I made 10 kernel:
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_1080p_vsfsam_cpu 1800_ddr600.img
1080p; sam321 video skipping fix, CPU Overclocked to 1800mhz maximum.
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_1080p_vsfsam_cpu 1800_ddr720_gpu798.img
1080p; sam321 video skipping fix, CPU Overclocked to 1800mhz maximum, RAM overclocked to 1440Mhz GPU overclocked to 798 Mhz maximum.
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_1080p_vsfsam_cpu 1920h_ddr720_gpu798_cfgia.img
1080p; sam321 video skipping fix, CPU Overclocked to 1920 mhz maximum (cpu speds only 1200, 1608, 1800 and 1920 mhz enabled), RAM overclocked to 1440Mhz GPU overclocked to 798 Mhz maximum and more aggressive interactive governor (by default is used ondemand).
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_1080p_vsfsam_cpu1 920h_ddr720_gpu798.img
1080p; sam321 video skipping fix, CPU Overclocked to 1920 mhz maximum (cpu speds only 1200, 1608, 1800 and 1920 mhz enabled), RAM overclocked to 1440Mhz GPU overclocked to 798 Mhz maximum
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_1080p_vsfsam.img
1080p at default speeds with sam321 video skipping fix.
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_720p_vsfsam_cpu1 800_ddr600.img
720p; sam321 video skipping fix, CPU Overclocked to 1800mhz maximum.
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_720p_vsfsam_cpu1 800_ddr720_gpu798.img
720p; sam321 video skipping fix, CPU Overclocked to 1800mhz maximum, RAM overclocked to 1440Mhz GPU overclocked to 798 Mhz maximum.
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_720p_vsfsam_cpu1 920h_ddr720_gpu798_cfgia.img
720p; sam321 video skipping fix, CPU Overclocked to 1920 mhz maximum (cpu speds only 1200, 1608, 1800 and 1920 mhz enabled), RAM overclocked to 1440Mhz GPU overclocked to 798 Mhz maximum and more aggressive interactive governor (by default is used ondemand).
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_720p_vsfsam_cpu1 920h_ddr720_gpu798.img
720p; sam321 video skipping fix, CPU Overclocked to 1920 mhz maximum (cpu speds only 1200, 1608, 1800 and 1920 mhz enabled), RAM overclocked to 1440Mhz GPU overclocked to 798 Mhz maximum
    kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_720p_vsfsam.img
720p at default speeds with sam321 video skipping fix.

I hope this kernels can satisfy all options, for those who want no overclock, a slightly overclock and aggressive overclock. Remember that not all processors will work with overclock, and with overclock you can need a better power supply and heat dissipation.

Like always flash them under your own responsibility, bla, bla bla. I tested them and all works for me.

If someone want to compile his own kernels, I use to compile them phjanderson sources, a little modified to fit in my requirements, I upload the sources to my github and added them marvin tool (made by phjanderson). Inside the zip there are all the .config files used to compile them.

    Sources:
    phjanderson sources: https://github.com/phjanderson
    My github: https://github.com/leolas/rk3188

Of course if any developer wants to use any of them in his roms, use them without problems

Thank you for sharing these kernels. I look forward to testing a few of them tonight, before deciding which is the right one for my qx1.

Thank again, going to test it after work.

Can we changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access, how ?

        thanks

im currently using finless 1.5 rom with provided on its thread kernel and bootloader
is it safe to flash your new kernel in terms of rom stability or it is most likely require the fresh rom installation?
thanks again for your great work

I think just flash only the kernel file should be ok. Correct me if I am wrong.

@leolas, how much/ how long do you test overclocked kernels for stable working? I am planning to use oced one with heat-sink attached to body. Have you used any app on rockchip 3188 device for checking temperatures for extended use?

Yes, if you are using Bob or my Rom, if you use stock Rom, I suggest you use a custom instead.

I test it running at stock speed antutu for at least 30 minutes, and at least 2-3 times in the overclocked versions. And I have my QX1 with only some bigs pasive disipators attached to the case. I will try to upload images tomorrow.

                  Great works!
I used kernel_20130909_163218_leolas_qx1_1080p_vsfsam_cpu 1800_ddr720_gpu798.img, works fine, but sometimes there are artifacts.
It is possible to reduce the frequency GPU of a one step? Please!
I think many people would be grateful to you for it even more.

A step down is gpu600. there is no intermediate steep. I have to look at this.

                      That would be just right.
                      Can you do that?

The main thing that would be left ddr720

                        device heat and freeze

You must use a massive heatsink then . My device got very hot yesterday. tried the 1800, 798 1080p kernel variant. tried some 1080p movies and simultaniously get moviesheets in xbmc xaf build... Eventually it froze...

But when i was watching the movies, I saw the internetconnection fail and resume several times (using usb to utp)... So I don't know if it's one of the peripheral devices or the overclocked kernel...

Running your 1080p 1800, 600 kernel now... no issues so far... Only the speed is slower, as expected of course!

Something strange though... with the new kernels, no issues with 1080p mkv's, but I do now have an issue with mx player icm a 720p movie, which plays fine on the native movie player and played fine on your older kernels? It's no biggy, but do you have an idea what could be the culprit?

Try to use mxplayer with hw+ instead of hw mode and tell me please.

And be sure that psu is a big one.

                            I also have 2 radiators and a large power supply 2.5 A
What is missing is your kernel, with a frequency CPU1800 GPU600 DDR720.
                            Can you do that, please.
