The only precise way to refer to this box, which will succeed the the MDZ-16-AB is by its specific model designation MDZ-22-AB.
It is in no way similar to MDZ-20-AA and MDZ-21-AA which are Chinese only market version that were released in Feb 2018. These Chinese models were referred to as MiBox 4 and MiBox 4C and use Xiaomi's Patchwall variant of Android which is based on Android 6. There is no hint that these Chinese versions have any appeal to Western consumers as they lack any sort of DRM or modern codecs needed to work with streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime video formats.
There is absolutely ZERO reason for the 20 and 21 models to be offered for USA FCC approval as they are intended to be sold only within PRC.
Back to the MDZ-22-AB, it will be available exclusively through Walmart in USA and will likely be at same original price point of $US 69.99. It will be same spec as MDZ-16-AB except will come with Oreo AndroidTV as stock. The remote is re-designed to include a button for Google Assistant (and maybe NETFLIX).
Look for it from Walmart in late August when Walmart stock of MDZ-16-AB will be cleared out, having been subject to a price rollback to $US 64.00 since July.
Cursory checking availability using https://brickseek.com/walmart-invent...r?sku=54827138 shows very low level stock holdings across most regions, at the $64 price.
