Force landscape instead of portrait for lots of apps to show fullscreen
(Lots of normal apps run 90 degrees rotated like ApkPure)
NTFS, NTFS write support, Exfat file systems not supported.
Home button on airmouses not working Add Recent apps menu by double pressing the Home button.
Add a power off icon to turn off when using an airmouse or gamepad.

I think Trebor alluded to the fact that Mecool was applying for a certification to use Netflix in UHD on this box.

I agree with all the above items. Strange thing today, I did a factory refresh, and now my CPUTemp app does not work. It installed without any issues when I first received this box, but now it will NOT install. I even did a factory reset twice....... Maybe I will go into the Android Recovery and do a factory from there.

And a biggie for me, HD audio passthrough.

Hope can ask the manufacturer for updated firmware.

For Mecool KM8 device
Problems detected in firmware.

Very important to fix
.1. External hard drives, NTFS, Exfat not detected, so it's a pain to sideload apps.
2. Several Android tablet apps sideloaded, run upside down, sideways.
3. The back button on airmouses doesn't go back.
4. Auto frame-rate switching not working, video playback not great.

Also important to fix
5. VC-1 videos seem to play with a lot of background noise and not smoothly
6. Interlaced mpeg2 videos also seem to play poorly
7. Some videos with dts audio also had no audio playing
8. The volume dialog is just a big white block, it seems the text and icons doesn't show or are 99% transparent.
9. No recent apps menu.
10. Netflix doesn't work, shows an error.
11. Amazon Prime Video not available in the Google Play Store

I totally agree with Mo, please contact Videostrong AND Mecool, and pass along the items that Mo has pointed out. This COULD be a great box IF they would take care of those issues. It does support Widevine Level 1 WITH HDCP 2.2, which is a great step forward. I THINK it is Google Certified, but can't prove 100% for sure that is does.

I tested a streaming app that requires a Google Certified device and that doesn't work on other devices and it worked on this, but you had to sideload it.
It doesn't appear in the Play Store.
I thought if a device is Google Certified and an app checks that and Safetynet then it would appear in the Play Store and work, but it seems some apps still need to be sideloaded, strange. I know for Amazon Prime, you need to get extra permission and a license from them to unblock their app in the Google Play Store, but I don't know if other streaming app providers have similar requirements.
So apps that check for a Certified device can work but you need to sideload them.

Is that Normal Playstore or ATV Playstore ?

ATV Playstore for everything I mentioned.
Sideloaded apps, Amazon Prime Video TV(with a blue icon) I downloaded from APKPure Store on a PC and installed them manually with a Fat32 microsd card since the app runs sideways on the box.

Something to think about, and I may be wayyyy out in left field. They are really pushing this **Google Certified** device, with NO Netflix included. Could it be possible that they have to show a lot of sales, to show Netflix that they are a viable manufacture and should be awarded a certificate of compliance so that Netflix will bless them and let them support Netflix in 4k??

Or has all that dope I smoked when younger, catching up to me??
