I enabled "Connect to PC" under Device/USB in settings, and made sure USB debugging is turned off. Windows 8 recognizes it as a media player.

How do I get the Finless ROM Flash Tool to recognize it? Thank you very much.

Little button left to the blue light? I tried that. Then restarted flashing program. No luck.

your win 8 may be your problem . can you use a different pc ?

Tried it on Windows 7, same problem.

I haven't done anything but 1. turn on device/plug into TV, plug in to computer, then went into android settings and under USB checked "Connect to USB".

What else can I do/try?

yeah ive had the same problems with win 7 also . i had to resort to my old laptop with vista on it to flash tablets . normally on these tv sticks you just hold the reset and plug it in while holding the reset button down .

I think this setting is unimportant for the flashing process. If you enable the "connect to PC" setting while it's connected to your PC, Windows treats it as a storage device (you manage the files on the mk808 internal memory) --- but that's not what you want for flashing.

You must power off the device, then hold the button (opposite of blue light) down while connecting to your PC (I usually wait a few seconds before releasing the button after connecting via USB, just in case). I think Windows will either not notify you at all that there is a device connected, or notify you that it can't find the drivers for the device - that's when you follow through with the driver install instructions (as detailed in the finless ROM readme file).

Flash mode using the reset button:
If you do not ever see the flash tool say "Found RKAndroid MASS Storage USB"
Or reboot to flash mode does not work, then use this manual proceedure.
1) Have the USB cable unplugged.
2) Near the HDMI port are 2 holes in each corner. One is the blue LED hole.
The other in the corner is a reset button under the hole.
Use a paper clip or something to push the reset button in this hole.
I actually enlarged the hole so a paper clip would fit.
You will feel the button "click" when you are on it.
3) Hold this button down and while holding it, plug the USB cable from the PC to the OTG port on the mk808.
4) YOu should here windows BONG it found a new device. The LED will not light!
5) You are now in ROM flash mode. Read below for installing drivers.

Driver install:
1) Now that we are in ROM flash mode as above, Windows should now have a new device found and it will be unknown.
2) Open the device manager in control panel. You should see a device listed as unknown with a yellow symbol in it.
3) RIGHT click on it and select "Update Driver".
4) You will get a dialog asking to search or browse my computer for the driver. Click Browse
5) On the next screen click the browse button. A file manager will open.
6) Now remember I told you to unzip this package to somewhere you know how to find it like the desktop?
7) Using the file manager point to this package, Click on the driver folder.
8) Then click on the folder for 32bit or 64bit depending on your OS.
9) Now click on your OS version, e.g. Win7, etc.
10) The OK button should now be available to click OK.
11) At this point the drivers should install. If not start over.
12) No matter what, reboot the PC now. Also unplug the mk808 and let it reboot
13) Once the PC is back up plug in the mk808 and repeat the steps for getting into flash mode!
14) Now this is important! If you did everything right when you go into flash mode (blank screen),
the PC FLash tool should now say at the bottom "Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb"
If it does not, you did not get the drivers installed! repeat above yet again.

If Windws sees it as a media player, your settings are not right.
Try to enable mass storage mode in the rockchip settings app and try again.

No found rkandroid rock usb problem (driver already installed)

You can see easily driver are already installed, ROM_Dumper_Tool and rk batch tool can see driver but rkandroid tool give me error "No found rkandroid rock usb problem (driver already installed)" How can i solve this problem?
