    I want to ask....

We have any method to change de boot logo? (not android bootanimation), i was looking at boot.img but it seems that the rle is not used anymore, on 1.24 boot.img ramdisk now isnt any rle file....any news about it? i couldnt find anything

Pipo Max M9, How to change boot logo?

On android tablets, you have 3 different boot images. The first one is embedded in the kernel...which is very difficult to change. Especially if the kernel is embedded in the boot.img.

The next screen is an initlogo.rle file in the root of the boot image.

The actual boot animation is a zip file in the system/media folder. That is the easiest to change. Just copy the new one into that folder and give it 755 permissions.

        Yes i know it....

The interesting logo is the kernel logo (on boot.img on the last pipo official firmware isnt a initlogo.rle....)

The others isnt difficult to change

But on pipo max m9, zImage isnt embedded on boot.img, right?

Isnt like other "kernels", where ramdisk and zImage are in the same boot.img, on this we have a kernel.img with the zImage and in other nand address the ramdisk into the boot.img

So im not wrong if i think that now isnt a method to change the kernel logo without recompiling the kernel from source and changing it there, right?

To be truthful, there is a way to change the kernel logo, I do it on all of my ROMs...but it involves some magic that the DEV's here have worked hard to perfect, and it would be unfair to them to share it to the public. Playing around with the kernel with a hex editor isn't for the lighthearted.

You have to find...and replace the image that is in there without overwriting any important stuff in the process.

Well if not public....what about only to me?

Is for a project and a demo and is something that i have to do....if i cant...i must change rk3188 and choose another that let me do it like mediatek...but i prefere this pipo rk3188...

                bootlogo / bootscreen

                Hi,
I also would like to change the bootlogo/bootscreen in the firmware of my N90FHDRK. But I don't find any bootlogo.bmp or initlogo.rle to change when mounting the boot.img as ramdisk in my virtual ubuntu 32bit.
Please tell me the way to do this. Thanks.

From a user standpoint...the only thing you can change is the boot animation.

This is located in the system/media folder.

Just rename the existing bootanimation.zip and paste in the one you want with the name bootanimation.zip.

You need to give it execute permission.

The boot.img and kernel.img graphics can't be changed without some advanced development tools. Definitely not from within Android.

                              @ MaxiMO
As forums are places to share desired knowledges I don't appreciate to keep secrets here. I don't have a perfect solution for you as riley has but mine is free for everybody. It works in some cases - just have a try:

Try the FactoryTool or similar rockchip-tools. Also in this forum there exists a short thread about that tool.

                              Good luck.
