        I got a good one brewing too, if it works

        I am trying to add an 8GB flash in the open hole, so far so good, I got the flash installed without solder bridges (FLUX FLUX FLUX) and the tablet turned on but as yet does not recognize it. I will try reflashing tonight and see if it finds it during the livesuite install or the subsequent reboot. Might have some support components that need to be installed that are not too. Will let ya know

        WARNING - anyone attempting this better have really good soldering skills (especially since it isn't proven to work yet), that is a mighty small pitch between those pins, real easy to bridge, but a real pain to unbridge

          Nice Experiment, I agree with the above. A copper wafer would do well!! Like for the old HP dv6,9000 series gpu issue

            a few measurements

            first off, no joy yet with the memory expansion. even after a reflash there was no sign of life. might be missing some support components on the board.
            the quick measurements is it looks like only 1-2 mm before getting to the case, and i think closer to 1. the allwinner ic is 19mm square.

            just reread and thought i should point out the tablet still works, just no extra memory.

              I think I may be getting somewhere

              I think that all is well on the board, where I am running into trouble is in the config. Looks like in the build it sets it up so there is only 1 flash being used in there. If I can get it set to 2 then I bet it will work. According to the doc's the A10 is capable of running up to 8 flash devices, either 1.7 or 3.3V so that part should not be a problem, just need to get it recognize the second flash.
              Code:
              [nand_para]
              [B]nand_used = 1 [/B]
              nand_we = port:PC0<2><default><default><default>
              nand_ale = port:PC1<2><default><default><default>
              nand_cle = port:PC2<2><default><default><default>
              nand_ce1 = port:PC3<2><default><default><default>
              nand_ce0 = port:PC4<2><default><default><default>

              nand_d7 = port:PC15<2><default><default><default>

                New component

                Quick note: I wasn't getting anywhere in the above post. The NAND_used parameter is strictly a bitwise item. It is either set or not, so either NAND present = 1 or NAND not present = 0.

                I did find the Datasheet for the FT690M audio amplifier:
                http://www.tgwdz.com/asp_bin/pro_img/2008115193415730.pdf

                Thanks alot to PRB for finding the schematics they helped alot for this too:

                  I am glad I passed this along and it has shed some new light on the Polaroid subject. I have been real busy over the last couple of weeks but try to read the new posts each day at least. I did buy my wife a 701c to try out and I have ordered a couple of accessories and will be ordering a couple of more to test and will post in the correct thread when I have tested all items.

                  I have the attitude "where there is a will, there is a way". I can see that several in this forum and in the site as a whole has this attitude and more. I wish I could help on the tech end, but you guys are way ahead of me. I am better with laptops and pc's... Keep on trying!! PRB

                    Screens?

                    Dare I ask if anybody knows of a source for the RS3-WVN70001A screens? No joy on **** and amazon, and the 701c has been replaced by the 702c at BL. Thanks

                      There are a few threads around covering the screens. Mostly I was able to find them looking instead for the Onda VX610W. I know there was one touch screen seller on ****, and there is someone that has a LCD/Screen for sale, but the cost is very close to buying a new one. The individual ones have been between $30 - $40, but most of them are China suppliers so will likely take awhile to get to you anyway.

                      One thing to note is the Digitizer and LCD are usually sold seperately

                        Gracias. Did find a VX610W screen in Hong Kong, but ribbon cable set up looked different from screen in 701c. LOL. To make a bad day worse decided to buy a 702c at BL to play with while hunting for screen. Ouch. But that's for another thread! Thanks again.
