    Antenna on x7 - Can I use it as a wireless router/repeater?

    Hi all,

I'm probably going to get myself an X7 in the next few days.
    One question though:
I live in an apartment block with a lot if wifi signals (I can see at least 20 right now).
As a result, I will connect my X7 to my router via ethernet. However, I would like to simultaneously use the 5ghz capability of the X7 to relay 5ghz wifi (and 2.4ghz if possible) around my apartment. Is this possible?

    Thanks.

Yes it should be when the Firmware Support WiFi Tethering.
If the Original Firmware doesn't have this Feature try the Firmware from Finless.

You can also get a low cost access point or router configured to act as an access point.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, but seeing as I was going to buy the X7 anyway, I thought I'd double check that it could provide this functionality

Question: For X7's that do not come with an external antenna, can you screw on a standard 8dbi omni0directional antenna to the connector?

All X7s come with an Antenna.
The X7 mini doesn't and one can't be attached, because there is no port/socket to accommodate it.
