    New owner, some questions plz.

    Hello All,
I just got my box today it's a 3/64GB labeled as EstGoSZ with Android 7.1.2 - It's has a blue board inside with a sticker that reads: CZ 3G+64G+9377 JOB 20171103
On the other side of the board it has the following written: S32-V6(LPDDR3) 2017-09-05
I am new to Android TV Boxes so please all the info and details you can provide me would be greatly appreciated

The problem I have is that it makes some crackling noise. I read here that all 7.1.2 have that problem:
    http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...-a-weird-sound

1- What is the latest stock firmware that I can update to in order to solve this? (Without introducing new bugs). And how?

2- I noticed there are ROMs here https://mega.nz/#F!8qhRRaYJ!2ZA3VLjv...TF27g!prxFnCRA that have XGO in their names and others don't, what's the difference?
I think the ROM on my box now is from 01-2018. I can double check if you want.

3- What would be better? Stock ROM or one from SuperCeleron? What are the benefits or disadvantages of each? I don't want to lose any functionality such as WiFi or Bluetooth or the stock remote.
    Any recommendations?

4- Is it possible to make the box run cooler without having to mod and install fans? I kinda like the minimalist and simple look it has.

Thank you kindly and sorry for the long post.

    Stock firmware....
    .
SuperCeleron's ...V7A (Nougat 64 bit) or V1-V2 (Marshmallo 32 bit.. a bit buggy but preferred by me).

Crackling noise? Never witnessed ( 12 + China Boxes). Might try with a different T.V. (HDMI issue?).

Run cooler without mod? Don't watch 4K, don't watch x265 encodes. Don't place near anything warm....?
I know a few people that have not modded and get by fine with SCV7a. Overall depends on the heatsink and quality of the cpu.

      Thank you for your reply!
The crackling noise I have I read about it in this thread: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...-a-weird-sound

So exactly how do I install SCV7A? Does it have a custom recovery built in? TWRP? Can I take a full backup of my current rom in case I have to return to it later if things go sideways?
Please can you point me in the right direction?

      Thank you again.

A lot of reading is required...
1- USB Burn tool SCV4 firmware (blue or green board version)
2- TWRP or OTA SCV7a firmware
3- Do not root with SuperSu (Nougat issues) use Magisk if you are inclined.

As for backing up your current firmware...outside of my skill or attempts.
Check your system info and see if your firmware version had already been released
***Seriously read through as many pages as possible***
        To be forewarned is forearmed.

I have no problem in reading! I've begun reading the SuperCeleron's 169-page thread!! Is there something else you advise me to read?
          Thank you!

LOL, so many forums here. Some smarty pants comes up with a great idea... in a different China Box vendor/forum and suddenly you are more informed...or more in trouble.

            Tweak-it till you break-it!

I would seriously check with another T.V. and another HDMI cable, if possible, to verify that the sound in not a HDMI "handshake" problem (early T.V.'s ...Phillips?).

I did try it with other cables and TVs.... No dice!
The noise can only be heard while navigating the menu but not when playing a movie, so I'm inclined to say it's a firmware bug.

I can only hear the noise when not playing any movies or music. For ecample if the box is idle in android or I'm browsing internet or going into android settings and folders i can hear the noise every couple of seconds.

Hmmm....You'll best be trying SCV7a. If that fails to cure sound issues, I'd consider returning back to factory firmware(*** take note first to see if you can re-install same firmware version***) and returning to vendor as faulty product. The most you lose (hopefully) is a bit of time.

Well it seems that my crackling noise fixed itself! I can no longer hear it!
would you still advise me to install SCV7a?
i'm still planning to cut out an opening for the 2 hidden usb ports though.
