    t428 Kernel?

    Hello guys, I'm trying to find a kernel that can do 1080p video playback smooth. Or is it a firmware I'm looking for? I've tried some firmware kernel combo's and found playback is great but heat is the issue. I'm not wanting to Frankenstein this unit to run cool.

    Any help would be great. This forum section has so much stuff if anyone that knows these things could make a stick showing how to's for whats working would be a help to us all I'm sure.

    Thanks in advance.

    This kernel in post #50 plus the Nexus SDK2 Multi-Window 1.2 ROM. Then use No-Frills CPU Controll or SetCPU to set the CPU max @1.6GHz min @1.2Ghz and the Interactive Gov + noop scheduler. Thats what Im running.
    TV Stick: MK808 // Tronsmart T428
    ROM: Finless 1.7c w/Pimp My Rom // Nexus SDK2 Multi-Window v1.2

    ROM: Whompasaurus v4.2

      Ok I will try that tonight, only question I had about that rom is, I couldn't find a power button that I could use to turn off the unit on the task bar and also had a task bar on the top and bottom. Am I missing something lol.

      Thanks for the info Spotopolis

        NP. I just downloaded "Hide Statusbar" app and there are several apps that will power off the stick in the Play Store. Those are the only 2 "issues" I had beside the right mouse button not working as "back" but I got use to it just hitting the back button on the bottom nav bar.

        As for the task bar on top and bottom, its setup like a Tab. Top left is notifications, top right is network status/time/toggle menu, and bottom is the nav bar.

        I replaced the launcher with Smart Launcher. Works really well for the TV Sticks.

          Sounds good, I'll try that all tonight and see how things go. Its nice that these sticks are back to being good at video playback, just wish we had 5.1 from the HDMI lol

          Thanks again for the help I'll post back how it all goes, are those apps you said free to download and what one would be good for the power off.

            Edit /system/build.prop and set

            ro.rk.systembar.tabletUI=true

            and you'll get the normal task/nav bottom bar without the top bar (after rebooting the device).

                You can use e.g. ES File Explorer on the stick itself. You need to remount /system read/write before editing the file or the changes won't be saved. Also this can be done with ESFE.
