The USB Burning Tool installs the driver for your box.
Thanks Gante. I didn't install the burning tool. It was in a zip file and everything just unzipped into the Burning tool folder. However, there is a folder in the Burning tool folder called "WorldCup_Device" and in that folder is "InstallDriver.exe". Is this what you are referring to?

Yes, but it should be installed together with the USB Burning Tool.
Android box must be connected to recognize it during installation.

Gante I decided to try the burning tool on the working box this morning. I used one of the images you recommended yesterday (aml_7.1.2_s912_q9377-H96PROPLUS_LP_mac-20171129.img)

          It did work.

So I assume that the other (bricked) box may need a pin-short or something more extreme to get it to accept a new rom and boot.

Anyway, thought I should let you know.

If the box connects to the usb burning tool, no pin-short is required, but you have to choose the corrent correct firmware.
On one android box that I did was working from 20 firmware just one. It probably depends on the configuration of the box. He wants to try it.

The 2 boxes I have appear to be identical. Same board, same markings, same date. The rom you suggested only worked on one of the boxes. The other box is still dead.
