[Q] Where to buy CX-919 in UK?

    Hi All,

Was wanting to get into using an Android Mini PC for my television, I think the CX-919 looks like a good fit for what I want (e.g. streaming, youtube etc.). Just wondering on the best place to buy one from the UK? Or even the CX-919 II?

I had a look on Amazon, but there are a lot of different versions it seems (some with 2GB RAM), does it matter which one I get to whether I can flash a ROM onto it (e.g. Finless ROM)? Or does anyone have any recommendations on other Mini PC's or what the CX-919 is capable of?

Thanks for any info you can provide, and sorry for all the questions!

Good choice the cx 919 is a great AMP,,i brought one from geekbuying it took about 2 weeks to arrive & I got one from **** about the same sort of price,,Weather you buy the 2gb or the 1 gb it makes no odds if you flash it with the finless rom as you can chose witch parameter you want to flash..I use mine for internet surfing, watching films (streaming & downloaded) & playing games I use a ps3 controller witch is ace..

I'd tell you to go Amazon, but it looks like none of the UK vendors are selling CX-919 sticks that are fulfilled via Amazon (so you have a easy way to return/replace if you have issues). I specifically purchased my unit from Amazon b/c I was concerned about the overall QC of this stick. Guess what... I got a lemon, but had a new one shipped to me without issue within 4 business days. If you order from a China dealer you're turn around will probably be at least 4-6 weeks if you have any issues and you'd probably be on the hook for shipping.

If you can find a local dealer who's got a supply, that would be your best bet.

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies Done a bit more looking around and I'm now tempted by the Minix Neo X7 as well, anyone have experiences of either/both? Like I said I really just want it for YouTube, internet and streaming videos over the network. Also ideally I wouldn't want Google Play Store to be restricted or anything.

I don't have the Minix Neo X7 so I can't comment on it's advantages/disadvantages. I would suggest you ensure that there is a healthy support community available to help you troubleshoot or optimize firmware/ROMs for whatever product you adopt. If not, you'd be stuck with an "as is" product as these Chinese vendors/manufacturers typically would rather push out new product then support current ones.

I have cx 919 which I bought from geek buying. Took about 4 weeks to arrive. I use it mainly for YouTube and online streaming. So far no complaints. Works really well, Wi-Fi is quite strong
