    XBMC Audio out of sync

Does anyone have a view as to what I can do to get XMBC to work where the audio is NOT out of sync with picture / video.

    I'm currently running....

    Firmware 005
    Rom - Minix
XMBC - Gotham 13; August release

Yes. You need to use an advancedsettings.xml (mine is set to 250ms, you may need to use a different value) to fix it. The link below is what I have for my advancedsettings.xml, you can edit/modify for your use, but it's been working flawlessly for me.

Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.

      Thanks Mike 77,

Can you give me a little more information as to where I can find that file and little more on what I'd need to do. I'm not a tech-no-phobe, but I am fairly new to this.

and how do I know what setting to put it on?

You need to make the file advancedsettings.xml and save it to folder Android/data/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata/

I find it easier to make the file on my computer and copy it onto an SDCard and transfer it over.. but I hate mini keyboards.

As far as what value to put in for the delay, I used the audio offset option in xbmc to determine where I needed it to be. When playing a movie, select the speaker icon on the lower right portion of the screen, adjust audio offset, and drag the slider bar to where the audio/video sync. Use that value for your latency setting.

Thanks Mike77. I found the folder.

And thanks for the advise that yours was 250 out, mine is 350, but I started with 250 and moved up.

Hi Sparksy, just wondering how you're finding the Neo X7? I'm thinking of getting one

Hi Yanman, As a system is pretty good. In the 3 weeks I've had it Minix have released firmware updates which have improved stability and performance each time, I understand they are soon to release a version 6 later this week, which they are saying removes some juddering that you see when playing video / streaming video, they are doing this by improving the Hardware decoding process.

XBMC - the add-ons are totally amazing. The Gotham 13 build is pretty good, it does suffer from video / streaming juddering but to be honest it is a pre-beta and they know there is problem.

I've moved from a Satellite system (Dreambox and Amiko) to the Android system and I'm so pleased it is the best thing ever. The native apps on android and a big plus.

Thanks for the info mate. I'm a bit disappointed that video isn't smooth yet considering the powerful decoding hardware they've got available I mean my TV (Panasonic ST50a) can decode most mkv's I play via Serviio DLNA, but that server isn't really doing anything transcode-wise. But I can't play any 10-bit colour clips, and lately there has been quite a few releases that won't play from my main HD source.

The apps would be great but only if the basics are sorted (video)

It is a little disappointing, but the development has not stopped. Minix have released a beta firmware which some people are testing and they are reporting an improvement (not perfect, but an improvement) and Minix have taken this feedback from testing to Rockchip to resolve the problem, so something is in the pipeline. Moreover, XBMC are really ramping up their Android support and the latest 'v13 Gotham alpha 7a' is yet another improvement. I watched 'Blow' last night in HD through XBMC and while the juddering was noticeable in some shots it didn't interrupt my enjoyment, 2 weeks ago I couldn't watch Transformers because of the problem but I then updated the firmware and updated XBMC and I can see improvements are being made. I'd stick with it.
