I thought I bricked my Tronsmart CX-919 for good until I found this, saved it it for me. I would also like to know what is the reason for this and if can be some how fixed. The stock CX-919 720 and 1080p provided by Geekbuying deos not work either. I would like to be able to flash the stock firmeware back on and also be able to try out the finless roms.

glade that helped you man, i thought that too until i found NEOMODE rom. i was hoping someone professional how knows this stuff better to explain like NEOMODE or finless. it seems the tronsmart has other components than regular cx919. if anyone can point out for the stock rom of the tronsmart cx-919 will be welcomed.

Thanks, I had been searching the net for two days until I found this thread.

I did a little experiment I was able to flash it with the 6 gig parameters from finless.

so it worked only with the 6 gig parameter?

I only tried 6 gig from finless. I was reading the the thread turns out it was already post that you could. I also got running with a over clocked kernal. The reason that our sticks may not work with the original CX 919 firmware I believe is the the tronsmart CX 919 may be an upgraded version. If you open it says CX 919 ver2.0 and the WiFi antenna is an upgraded ap6210. Neomod ROM are specificly tailers for these antennas.

                Tronsmart CX-919 spontaneous reboots

I'm running the Tronsmart CX-919 as it shipped, (no mods, ROM changes, etc. since I don't know how to do that stuff yet). I believe it's running 4.2.2. The problem I'm having is the device will periodically crash and reboot for no apparent reason. Sometimes it will run for an hour and be fine, other times it might reboot every few minutes, (particularly if you scroll too fast or give it a more difficult chore.

I could learn some of this modification stuff if that would make it more stable I guess. On the other hand, I'm not inclined to mess with a stock setup "just because." I'm not needing any whistles or bells, higher res, etc., I just want it to work reliably without these annoying crash/reboot cycles.

                Thoughts?

Are you powering it from a USB or power supply? Is it the original one? If so is it a 5v 2amp PSU? 5v 3amp is recommended but not required. Neomode's ROM is more stable and much less bloat than the stock one. Also I do not recommend a 1080p kernel as it will slow down your device a bit. One last thing you may not be able to go back to stock once you change as I have yet to find the stock firmware myself but I have no regrets on the change and have no reason to go back.

Where would one get a 5v 3A PS? Can you recommend a specific model? I have been used 5 different, every one of them claiming to output up to 2A, including the OEM, USB power sources, and neither my iMito MX2 or my CX-919 have EVER ran stable or been able to play any video worth a damn (over wifi). Video playback does not seem to be affected by the ROM - these things just are not able to stream video and are not stable in the least bit.
This does not matter where my router is - for a day I even had both android sticks sitting on top of the router - they both still could not play any video over about 120MB / 20 minutes without coppyness / skipping.
I am now using a much cheaper Raspberry Pi, running XBMC, which plays nearly everything FLAWLESSLY, but I would like to get some use out of these android sticks instead of just writing them off as worthless....

I use a 5v 2.1a from radio shack myself with no issues so I cant recommend something I have not used. I guess I got lucky with mine since I have nothing to complain about. Had some issues after trying to flash the stock rom but thanks to the original post and him pointing over to Neomode rom I no longer have anything to complain about.
