Important
We seperate OTA version to two update .zip files, update the small one first, then rename the update_second_stage.zip to update.zip and update the full OTA. If apply the full OTA first, some box may need more time to finish upgrading.

How to update Tanix TX6 TV Box by external USB memory or TF Card?
1. First of all, download the ZIP file.
2. Copy the update.zip file into the ROOT folder of a FAT32 formated USB memory.
3. Connect the USB memory to your Tanix TX6
4. A dialog should pop-up indicating your TX6 has found an update.
5. Follow instructions, first boot after upgrade may take some minutes.
6. Remove your update.zip file from your USB memory, then RENAME the second ZIP file as update.zip (be careful with extensions, an update.zip.zip will not work) and repeat steps 2 to 4.

Also you can use .img file and flash it from PC using LiveSuitPack1.11 or from SD card using PhoenixCard V3.1.0 or Phoenix USB Pro v4.0.0.

Caution Please do not update firmware unless you know what you are doing, you really want it or it is absolutely necessary. Firmware updates may occasionally have bad results, like bricking your device, temporarily or permanently. The firmware update process is done entirely at your own risk. Before attempting to update the firmware, back up your data.

Hey guys! I`m new here.

My version of TX6 (4/32Gb) has no built-in BT, so I`ve used to try few firmwares a while ago to make external BT-USB dongle work. And I`ve found that it works with external USB-dongle only on Android 7. And only with one of my 3 BT-dongles.

All my attemts to make it work on Android 9 were unsuccesful. But my experiments were made ~2 years ago. So, I wonder if there`s any updates for today? Has anyone ever made BT USB dongle succesfully work with this device?

I`m happy with Android 9, except it doesn`t work with my BT-dongle.

I know about github and arranging pictures on Ubuntu and so on, yet don't have a clue about the means needed to add another gadget to the picture.
Is this archived anyplace? I have no issue doing all the hard work.

Tanix TX6 has its device tree added to Linux mainline so now LibreELEC v.10.0 supports this device officially. I believe Balbes150 over on Armbian forum has made Debian/Ubuntu/LibreELEC development images for the Tanix TX6, and his dev images have the WiFi driver added; were the official LibreELEC image doesn't have WiFi drivers added because this Realtek WiFi chip is not upstream'd in Linux mainline. I use my box with ethernet anyways so the WiFi driver is not an issue for myself. Have used/tested Balbes150's LibreELEC image and it works great. Another major difference is Balbes150's images are aarch64(64bit) and the LibreELEC images are arm(32bit).

Hopefully this info points you in the right direction, because I didn't fully understand your questions or follow your train of thought.
