    What do I actually have?

Sorry strange question, I know, but I purchased this MK908 (honeybee logo on the front) and as with all my gadgets started flashing customized firmware from this site. Instructions were straight forward and I erase first then flash and flash tool reports all ok each time.

I then connect and no hdmi output just blank screen. Of course off and on tv and plug and unplug mk908. I have tried all the combinations of all the roms here from Finless, Jjhmod and Lewy20041. Blue light is always on but not even a flicker on the screen, no boot logos etc.

Of course its possible I damaged the item (would not be the first time whilst customizing) but I attach the pictures as folks were talking about v1 and v3 and that its stamped on the pcb. However as can be seen from the attached photos (excuse the bedding lol) no such markings exist.

Any help in this matter is much appreciated

An external power adapter supplied with the unit. It does show 2A on the power adapter but as I have read this may not be the case but would this stop the hdmi from functioning

Just trying to cover all scenarios.

Was the device working before you reflashed it (i.e. did you try to boot it first with the stock rom)?

Yes it was working fine but with all the video issues described by users of the stock rom.

Looking at my device as there are no stamps which version is it do you think. At least I can concentrate only one type

What kind of WLan-antenna do you have?
I've read the "one pin version" (on board; not via cable a small "external" antenna at the case) should be an indicator for V3...
I see date 2012-07-16 on the board and should be an indicator for V3 too?

            Perhaps

Yep it does have a small external antenna in the case and the date stamp would suggest a v3 but I have tried the universal roms and just tried the one you mentioned as its new. I have erased the nand and the flash reports successful but not even a flicker on any one of the 3 flat screens we have.

Guess this a clone then or I have damaged the hdmi port. Problem when you buy on **** as I have no response from the seller for a request to a link for their stock rom.

Yes, it looks like a cone of a clone of a clone ... Terrible thing...
Is there only the date printed at the board? Any other information? Perhaps RAM-, flash-, HDMI-module for using searching at the web?
                Any other idea...

                  Solution Found

Just in case someone else has this problem a solution was posted in the general tv player discussions

So we have a stick that looks like an MK908 even has it printed on the box. Same specs etc but using the custom roms here wont allow the unit to boot, however with an mk802iv or cx919 with new wifi drivers we can at least boot the unit. So far its working well

                    Congratulation
Seems so, as if they bild in the case a mix of MK908 and MK802IV (MK801IV with an other HDMI connetor and so on)...
But I think, this Thread should be here and not at "General TV Player Discussions"...

                    Greetings

The bee logo is an indicator of v1.0, but the insides indicate you have a v3.0 which is confusing

I had no idea which version I had so I tried to flash jjhmod V1 nothing on screen, flashed jjhmod V3 and then it worked for me. So I identified it by trying both and it did not brick my MK908.
