    Restoring back to default

I installed Finless custom rom on my Arnova tab but the install keeps failing because it never erases the IDB fully or writes the fw fully. Looking this up it appears that it's faulty memory (unless you lot can think of another fault).

I want to return this to Arnova to be fixed or exchanged as it's only 3 months old. Is there any way i can restore it back to original so it doesn't look like i've tampered with it and voided any warranty at all.

How would i go about doing this when it can't fully write firmware

You could try a different cable, believe if or not people have had problems with this. Or try a different USB port.

If you wanted to put the original firmware on download the firmware from the Arnova website and use the rockchip tool to flash the IMG file back on your tablet.

See this thread for the download for the rockchip tool

I've tried different usb cables and different usb ports, even tried a different computer.

When i first got the tablet and erased the IDB it was erasing 2048. Now it only shows 1024 and even then it only erases 937/1024 and says it's done. And as for the firmware, it flashes like 98% of the firmware and says it's ok, then when it gets to the verification bit it goes up to about 60% then says it failed

Try flashing with the original firmware, if it does not work just take it back and explain that you tried to flash the original firmware on it. Arnova usually just send out new tablets anyway. I have had two replaced with no problem. If it does not boot they can't prove anything either way if the nand flash is broken

I've tried reflashing original fw and it never worked. I might just erase the IDB again and send it back to them. I've seen around a few forums if you send the 4Gb 10-G2 back then sometimes they send out a replacement and it's the 8GB 10-G2. Have you had any experience like this?

Just hoping the EraseIDB works properly, i don't want to send it back and they check it and see a custom rom has been installed on it.

Yes I got an 8gb one sent. Do what you said. At the end of the day putting a custom Rom on does not bust your nand. Your tab is faulty and that is not your fault

They have accepted the RMA and are sending out a new one "Arnova 10b G2 DT - 4GB"

Is there much difference over the 10b DT compared to the 10 G2?

In my opinion it is a lesser tablet. It has a resisitive screen so you will find the screen is not near as responsive as the capacitive screen of the 10 G2.

Aww so they are sending me a worse one, and here I thought I was gonna get a better deal. Although the G2 felt resistive to me anyway. Definetly didn't feel like a normal capacitive

Download the firmware for your tablet from the ARNOVA website.

Now follow this guide and this will be back to how it was when you bought it. Hope this helps you out

My charge jack is hosed on my 10 G2. I think the jacks are a weak point on this model.
